I didn't say fire him because the Democrats want him fired. I said fire him because he screwed up. Frankly he should have resigned and saved us all the bandwidth.

Here's the way these discussiong go. First we heard how there was no way it was Rove who did the leaking. Too much integrity to do such a thing.

Then it begins to look like he did it.

So, the response becomes. So what if he did it? Not a big deal.

In my world, if I go out on a limb to defend my employee and say that they did not do something. They better not have. If it turns out that they did and I end up with egg on my face. That employee hits the road.

If Rove lets himself be killed off like Obi Wan, he will only become stronger.

Take an aspirin.

Rove screwed up nothing. He did nothing wrong. This controversy is good for us and bad for Democrats. While they do this, they don't come up with anything that might work for them.

I said fire him because he [Rove] screwed up.

Screwed up how?

First we heard how there was no way it was Rove who did the leaking. Too much integrity to do such a thing. Then it begins to look like he did it.

How could Rove have "leaked it" about Plame, if the media already knew about her? Rove found out about her from a journalist, so he could not have "leaked" anything from the administration.

Besides, Bush didn't promise to fire a leaker, he promosed to fire anyone breaking the law and Rove didn't break any law. That's the second sentence in the Bush statement that the MSM is ignoring right now. All Bush has to do, when the time is right, is say "I said I would fire whomever broke the law", and the quote is there, he did in fact say that when this first hit the fan in 2003.

The MSM is spinning this from whole cloth, but it will fall apart in the end and embarrass them even more than they are already.

You've been on FR this long and still have the comprehension of a DUer?

You imagine that you know MORE than the president and Rove do? NOT ON THIS UNIVERSE.

My fellow freeper,

And what of the future of the Grand Old Party. This blowup will bring many socialists to convert to the true red, Republican red. The yellow dog dems of old will see the madness and switch from the party of four generations to the R side. Personally, I know many independents and democrat lawyers and doctors are switching over. Minorities are figuring it out and coming over. Think of the future of the party. We will have our judges, we will have Bolton and best of all another Clinton will never sit in the Oval Office.
