I've heard you say a number of times, much to your credit, that we should put the whole Northerners vs. Southerners thing behind us for the moment and focus on greater threats that don't give a d-mn about the distinction between Northerners and Southerners (like Osama's brand of militant Islam).

So, in that spirit, do you think posts like #s 564 and 568 are helpful to this cause?

Maybe it would be more helpful to the cause to think about the ramifications of Major Randolph's hateful words before we glorify his sentiment. I don't think the death of any Americans, be they Union soldiers, Confederate soldiers or the innocents killed on 9/11/2001, is anything to celebrate. Randolph's hateful song needs to go into the sewer where it belongs because Osama's singing the words right now.

It's us and them and us should include everyone North and South.
