There was an article in the WSJ this morning noting that if the London terrorists are found to have trained in Pakistan - and it appears that at least one of them did - the US is going to have to rethink its policies towards Pakistan, because Musharref had assured us that these madrassas were being closely watched, did not promote violence, etc.

I realize that Musahrref has to walk a fine line and probably does not even have the ability to clean up all the terrorists there. But it does seem as though way too much AQ activity is emanating from Pakistan, and I hope we are not foolish enough to go ahead with the military weapons deal we were offering them a few days ago.

I remember reading an article in Readers Digest a few years ago about the schools in Pakistan for young orphan boys. They were funded by wealthy Saudis and taught extreme anti west propaganda. The RD reporter who was in Pakistan researching for the story said there were thousands of those schools operating in Pakistan. It's going to take a while to run all these indoctrinated individuals through the "War on Terror" purge machine.

The entire intelligence apparatus over there is rifled with jihadist lunatics, many of whom have facilitated the escape of Taliban and al-Qaeda operatives since the Afghan War.

I don't doubt they know exactly which safehouses in the "tribal" regions were used to hole up that vermin.

Musharaff has no more control over these pigs than he does the weather. We'll be lucky if he hangs in there for the balance of Bush's term, or winds up on the business end of elements within his own government.
