Well I'm not. I still thing she will track north of forecast and mighht even miss Yucatan. Yuctan is flat and low.

I hope it does miss the yucatan. One of my daughters is at playa del carmen across from cozumel. I'm worried.

I'm not saying that we're out of the woods on this storm. A lot could change between now and next Wednesday. But if the forecasters are pretty confident that Emily will spend some time on the Yucatan, it does make me feel more comfortable. A hurricane cannot maintain its strength over land, no matter how flat it is. The core is no longer being fed.

Feeder bands are a misnomer. They don't feed the storm. Only the core does.
