I think it is totally silly. The weddings that I have attended do not promote such encounters. Everyone's attention is on the bride and groom, as it should be. It is, after all, their day.
I have not attended a wedding alone since my husband passed away. I am sure I would feel sad. I miss my husband and my marriage. Also, I would like to fall in love again and get married. However, I have not met any men who want to get married.
I have only done about 5 or 6 since my wife died and I have to tell you that I still stumble over the words, 'til death do us part.
Also, I would like to fall in love again and get married....

Hmmm...very interesting :-)
Where are you looking? I've found many men who want to get married. The trick is in finding the right one! :)

Dont give up. I lost my wife of 21 years to a heart attack three years ago and tommorrow I am gettting married to a beautiful, sweet, loving, intelligent Republican woman and we are going on a honeymoon cruise to Alaska. We attended her daughters wedding last Saturday and I did observe that the young, single people there were more interested in celebrating the special day for the bride and groom than trying to hook up. Have faith in God and He will look after you.
Not really. If you actually think non-metro's are focusing on the B&G, you've got another thing coming. Weddings have a tradition (and I mean a loooong tradition) of being a seriously great place for the easy hook up.
And on the flip side, couples usually inject a little fire into their relationship from the goings on at weddings.
My thoughts are with you--I hope you find love again. :)
Sorry for your loss. You know though what they say about it's better to have loved and lost the love than not having loved at all. At least you have your good memories. After all, that's what life's all about: building good memories and making a difference...
