CA: Sizemore misses hearing, checks into rehab

LOS ANGELES - Actor Tom Sizemore missed a probation violation hearing Tuesday after checking into a live-in drug rehabilitation program.

If the court finds Sizemore violated probation, he could be sent to prison for up to three years. The actor was ordered into drug treatment after pleading guilty in October to possession of methamphetamine.

Sizemore, who played baseball player Pete Rose in last year's ESPN movie "Hustle" and had roles in films including "Natural Born Killers" and "Saving Private Ryan," has denied violating the terms of his probation.

Prosecutors allege Sizemore tried to falsify a urine test for drugs and later missed tests required once every three days, probation officials said Tuesday. They also said he failed to report to his probation officer and missed drug rehab counseling sessions.

Sizemore's attorney Gary Meastas declined comment and said the actor checked himself into a live-in rehab program on Monday in the Los Angeles area but declined to identify the facility.

Sizemore's hearing in Superior Court was rescheduled for July 22. A bench warrant will be issued for his arrest if he misses that court appearance, Deputy District Attorney Sean Carney said.

In a separate case, the actor was convicted in 2003 of domestic violence involving his ex-girlfriend, former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss. He has been allowed to remain free while appealing.

Yeah, a similar ploy worked over and over for Michael Jackson. These people know they can manipulate the court and do it repeatedly. It's a game they play. Sizemore should be sent to prison where he'd more than likely end up doing his time in special housing, which would limit his access to contraband. That's not saying he wouldn't be able to get high while out of the general prison population, but he wouldn't be able to do drugs as often or as easily as he is now.
