Manic/depressive is bipolar. Bipolar is the new name for it as manic/depressive sounded too much like a mental illness.

FYI, people with disorders are very wounded people and some have gone through untold horrors as children. And the disorder is how God helped them to survive something they had no tools to handle. It is the natural method the system uses to survive. IMHO
