World Wrestling Entertainment and UPN have heard from several concerned viewers following last Thursday's "WWE Smackdown," which depicted a terrorist-like attack involving a group of Arab-Americans and a wrestling opponent.

What is possibly wrong with this? Nobody had a problem with the Iron Sheik or Nikolai Volkov, nobody who wasn't evil, that is. Michael Savage is right. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

"The shariff don't like it rockin' the casbah rock the casbah"
Some people take this a little to seriously.
There's a reason it's called, "sports entertainment".
The WWE have done something crass. What is the world coming to?
1) Typically WWE's Smackdown is taped on Tues in one city, aired on Thurs. WWE's RAW is typically shown live on Mon from another city. This past week was different as it was a 'supershow', meaning both shows were in the same building on the same night, RAW was shown live first and Smackdown was taped immediately thereafter.
2) Article doesn't state this but Sky News, who handles the WWE programming in the UK, completely cut out the segment in question. We here in the States saw the segment, and the disclaimer that is mentioned in the article.
3) The morning after Smackdown was showed, there was a video clip of the incident on WWE.com but it was pulled within a few hours.
4) There's a LOT of debate going around amongst wrestling fans about this segment. Personally I thought it was stupid to do. Why? Not that I was offended (I've seen worse and yeah like Rodney King said we had the Sheik and Volkoff back in the day) but Hassan was getting great heat (IOW getting the crowd riled up) and didn't need something this over the top, and second the guy he had beat up is my personal favorite, the Undertaker. (Yes I know wrestling is fake go on...*s*)

ooops sorry about the double post, FR kinda hiccuped on me...
What?! Please don't toy with us. The only thing I can recall that was faked is when Jesse "The Body" Ventura became governor of Minnesota. They even had me going for awhile but I saw through it.
Sounds to me like Vince McMahon got this idea from one of the Godfather movies, he just changed the religion.
Well, all of this may be in poor taste but the reality of the situation is that this "Mohammad Hassan" character is actually an Italian-American from upstate New York who has about as much Arab blood in him as Vince McMahon. I think his name is Steve DeVito or something close to that.

How many is "several" I wonder?
Muslims terrorists??? Inconceivable!!

A skit on a TV show offended Arab-Americans? I wonder if this audio from the IMAO Podcast http://www.imaopodcast.com/podcast/IMAO-July11.mp3 featuring a skit where conservative bloggers travel to Iraq to "bag some terrorists" will offend Arab-Americans?
I guess the WWE and IMAO Podcast will lose fans in Michigan...
PING for later reading

Inconceivable! Indeed!
All that partiotism on display in the WWE really burns me up.
By the way, any pics of Trish Stratus?
