NAACP to target private business (Reparation Extortion)

No, poor people are poor because they repeat the behavior that makes them poor like not developing marketable job skills, poor breeding habits, addiction, etc.

Disparities in health care are caused by a lack of priorities. If there is a root cause to this it is the Federal Government and their attempts at cradle to grave Socialism.

And, lastly, people are incarerated because they commit crimes. Perhaps the NAALCP should focus on teaching their followers that car jackings, robberies, murder, rape and other assorted crimes are wrong.

Seven years ago, I answered the phone at my business. On the other end of the line was an outraged woman who was sputtering something or another about our business being racist.

To be honest, she was hardly coherent, so I let her ramble for a time, making small noises whenever she took a breath. When she finally finished her rambling, I inquired as to what her problem was.

Clearly stated, it was that we had refused to hire a black woman. I was shocked - we refused to hire someone? I responded to her and she angrily replied that yes, indeed, that was the case.

"Madam, I don't think you understand - we're a family business. We aren't hiring anyone, nor do we have any plans on hiring anyone for quite some time, if ever."

This sent her on another rampage about how our store would be boycotted and she'll be contacting the local papers and whatnot, to which I replied, "Please do, we could use the publicity."

Alas, the woman never did follow through with her threats and we didn't get the much needed free PR. She did happen to show up at the store a few months later, demanding of my wife a job application. When told that we didn't have any applications, much less any job openings, she again went into a full blown tirade. The biggest difference was that she was doing this in a store full of shoppers.

I invited her into the office to talk, which she accepted after a few more rages about how racist we were, and after she sat down, I asked her if she could give me her address so that I could mail her an application after I went and bought some of the forms, but for her to also understand that we have no intention of hiring anyone, much less anyone who threw a fit in our store.

There came the meat of all of this.. She would not go to the press, file a formal complaint with the county or the state, if we compensated her for the injustice. I blinked and picked up the phone, dialing the local police department. She sat forward and was wondering if I was calling a partner or something.

"Yes, I would like to report an extortion attempt. The person attempting it is in my office at the moment.. Yes, I'll hold."

The woman was out of that office faster than greased lightning. She pulled out of the parking lot and nearly crashed into a truck going down the highway in her urge to get away. When the police showed up, I gave them the purse she had left behind and the copy of the tape from the cameras which picked up her car license plate rather well.

She was, alas, never charged with that particular crime and our lawyer didn't want to pursue the case in civil court. We couldn't demonstrate any damages - even her tirade didn't affect sales which turned out to be unusually brisk that day. To a person, the customers in the store that day were outraged at the woman's actions and accusations, which didn't please the lawyer one bit. He would much rather have had everyone offended and worried that we were racist, but it just didn't fly.

We did keep an ear to the ground, hoping against hope that she would spread lies about our business so that we could go after her, but apparently we ceased to exist that day. I still love the comment by one of our customers, "How stupid do you have to be to try to fleece an Indian store as being racist."

Maybe we need a boycott of black businesses. I already boycott the local drug dealers.

As if black businesses are only involved in the drug trade or other things that are illegal. That was a cheap shot.

...They obviously have no shame and as I stated on a previous thread, they are losing credibility with younger mainstream black Americans.
