I dunno about this one. Bayh stands a better chance of unseating a Republican candidate nationwide than Hillary does. Hillary will get no more of the vote than Kerry, but Bayh could lure some Republicans away. That's the bad news.
The good news is that given Howard the Maniac's position as DNC Chair, in addition to the vocal contributions of moveon.org, the Hollywood Left and Michael Moore - Bayh doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell ever making in through the primaries. Look what the did to Gephardt and Lieberman, either of which would have run a cleaner and tighter race against Bush.
Thank God for the Lunatic Left!

Even if he did make it through the primaries, he'd have a hard time rallying the Democratic base around him the way someone like Hillary Clinton would...which could make it easier for the Republicans to win, even with a smaller overall vote share...

add to those voices -- dick durbin, leahy, kerry (yes, still yappin'), hillary (saying stupid things lately), bill (today I heard he said global warming was more important in the country than terrorism -- is he losing it like Gore and Kerry?), teddy kennedy, harry reid, nancy pelosi, barbara boxer, etc., etc., etc.).
