Fire disrupts service on N&R subway lines

Wednesday July 13, 2005

NEW YORK (AP) A fire in a Manhattan subway station knocked out train service for about an hour this afternoon.

There were no injuries and service has been restored.

The fire department responded to a call at 58th Street and Lexington Avenue for an unspecified fire near the southbound N & R lines at about 12-35.

The fire was extinguished and subway service resumed at 1-50, according to a N-Y-C Transit spokeswoman.
