Key Militant Websites Temporarily Disabled by Hacker
At least two popular websites used by Middle Eastern terrorist groups to disseminate video, communiques, and other propaganda were temporarily disabled early Saturday by a hacker calling him/herself "The Ghost XXXV." Visitors to the two militant forums were greeted with the image of a vampire, the signature and e-mail address of "Ghost XXXV", and the following message: "yOuR sItE hAs bEeN hAcKeD... You Can Run But You Can't Hide. Astalavista Baby!"
By 10am eastern, the claim of responsibility left by "Ghost XXXV" on one victim had been erased and replaced with a message from a site administrator known as "Terrorist007" explaining that the forum was temporarily closed for maintenance.

Tunisian Plane Makes Emergency Landing
ROME -- A Tunis Air jet carrying 35 passengers went down in the sea off the Sicilian coast Saturday, and rescuers were on their way, officials said.
The jet left Bari and was on its way to Tunisia when it went down in the ocean off Sicily, Vito De Blasi, a Palermo airport tower official, told The Associated Press.
"It landed in the sea," he said.

(Emergency landing???? PC term for "crashed in the sea"?)
It Ditched!
Going offline for today.
BBQ with the family. Yum!
Stay safe everyone!
"I don't think it will happen at night though as the visual impact isn't as great."
Bio or chem really don't have visuals anyway (except the panic and the aftermath of casualties). But I wouldn't rule out large nighttime gatherings involving the tens of thousands (sports/entertainment), especially if taped or televised. Day or night, you achieve the effect with bio or chem.
With a "nuke at night", you lose the visual of the mushroom cloud but get a fireball and the glow of secondary fires in return. (The image posted above from a couple years ago is a nighttime detonation)
But just as the specific timing is of secondary importance compared to method or target, visuals are secondary to body count.
"I wouldn't be surprised if they have figured out just what to do to get cameras pointed at the right spot, and even at the right level of zoom, such as looking out over a skyline."
Kill two birds with one stone - - divert security, create confusion and cue cameras with an initial set of conventional attacks (a la London, Madrid, etc).
Cameras and diversion off the coast of Sicily right now.

Ill. Man Accused of E-Mailing Bomb Threat
Sat Aug 6, 6:54 AM ET
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050806/ap_on_re_us/brf_bomb_threat_1
TOLEDO, Ill. - A man is accused of sending an e-mail bomb threat to the
headquarters of an Islamic civil rights group, the Department of
Justice said.
Max Oakley, of Toledo, allegedly sent an e-mail on July 29 threatening
to blow up the Washington, D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic
Relations unless it agreed to close down.
Police searched CAIR's building, but did not find any evidence of
explosives, U.S. Attorney Kenneth Wainstein said. CAIR officials then
contacted the FBI and Washington police, who were able to trace the e-mail
back to Oakley. He was arrested Friday.
"The guy wasn't exactly a rocket scientist. He sent the e-mail with his
name clearly indicated in the address," CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper
said.
Wainstein said Oakley admitted sending the e-mail threat. It was not
immediately clear if he had an attorney.
A woman who answered the telephone Friday at Oakley's home declined to
comment. The town is about 80 miles southeast of Decatur.
CAIR, which also seeks to enhance the understanding of Islam, has 31
offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada.
I have snipped this, to show the trucks and derailed train plans.
There are several reports that have links in the middle of them, that concern our interests, including one on the perfumed bin Laden, who is being investigated.

Terrorism Headlines of the Week
Domestic
Assessments Find Threat of Suicide Attacks in U.S.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 - Confidential government assessments say that Al Qaeda remains intent on attacking targets
in the United States and that suicide bombings are clearly "a preferred method of attack among extremists" in the
wake of last month's terror attacks in London.
The July 7 attacks on the London transit system, as well as others overseas, have prompted American officials to
reassess potential threats to targets in the United States. Their conclusions, circulated among law enforcement
officials by the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, differ little from many
earlier assessments since the Sept. 11 attacks but make clear that officials see Al Qaeda as a continued threat at
home.
Although American intelligence officials "do not believe the London attack necessarily presumes a similar attack
against rail or mass transit targets in the United States, there has been consistent threat reporting for some time
suggesting that terrorists may have an interest in targeting mass transit systems," according to a security bulletin
on July 20.
A second security bulletin also prepared after the London bombings warned that in addition to setting off bombs on
trains and subways, Al Qaeda might seek to derail trains or crash a truck carrying flammable material into trains.
Intelligence officials are also concerned that terrorists linked to Al Qaeda or other terrorist groups may again turn to
airplanes as a method of attack by sending operatives to flight training schools or using "an increased number of
operatives" in the aviation industry to evade tightened airport security measures.

Threat to Divest Is Church Tool in Israeli Fight
The New York Times
By LAURIE GOODSTEIN
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/06/national/06church.html?hp&ex=1123387200&en=4dcd40cdf7b6de61&ei=5094&partner=homepage
The Presbyterian Church U.S.A. announced Friday that it would press
four American corporations to stop providing military equipment and
technology to Israel for use in the occupation of the Palestinian
territories, and that if the companies did not comply, the church would take a
vote to divest its stock in them.
The companies - Caterpillar, Motorola, ITT Industries and United
Technologies - were selected from a list of several dozen possibilities by a
church investment committee that met Friday in Seattle. The
Presbyterians accused these companies of selling helicopters, cellphones, night
vision equipment and other items Israel uses to enforce its occupation.
In an effort to appear even-handed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,
the church committee also included Citigroup on its list of targets,
alleging it had a connection to a bank accused of having a role in
funneling money from Islamic charities to the families of Palestinian suicide
bombers. The church said it included Citigroup because it was mentioned
in an article in The Wall Street Journal.
A spokeswoman for Citigroup called the church's assertion "an outrage,"
a reaction echoed at several of the other corporations.
The Presbyterian Church U.S.A. is in the forefront of a campaign now
spreading to other mainline Protestant churches to use corporate
divestment as a tactic in the Middle East conflict, a tactic that is roiling
relations with Jewish groups.
The Episcopal Church U.S.A., the United Church of Christ, two regions
of the United Methodist Church, as well as international groups like the
World Council of Churches and the Anglican Consultative Council have
all urged consideration of divestment or economic pressure in recent
months, though the tone and emphasis of each resolution varies. The
Disciples of Christ passed a resolution last month calling on Israel to tear
down the barrier it has built to wall off the occupied territories, and
other churches are considering similar resolutions.
Some Jewish groups accuse the churches of singling out Israel for blame
and failing to address the Palestinians' role in perpetuating the
violence. Several have even said they see anti-Semitism behind the churches'
moves.
The Rev. Clifton Kirkpatrick, stated clerk of the Presbyterian Church
U.S.A., said in an interview: "It's not a campaign to divest from the
state of Israel. We're fully committed to the state of Israel. But it is
a campaign to divest from particular activities that are doing damage
and creating injustice and violence, whether that's the building of the
separation barrier, construction related to the occupation, or weapons
and materials that lead to suicide bombings."

Where bin Laden is, why he's still alive

Osama bin Laden
Where in the world is Osama bin Laden?
Let's face it. He shouldn't be hard to find, especially from a
Predator, an aerial reconnaissance vehicle that can read the minute hand of a
wristwatch from an altitude of 26,000 feet.
Bin Laden is very tall â slightly over 6'6" â and incredibly thin,
less than 150 pounds. He wears shalwart kameez â the loose-fitting
tunics and baggy pants of al-Qaida and Taliban soldiers â and, when the
weather is cold, he dons a camouflage jacket.
Although he was born in 1957 and far from retirement age, the al-Qaida
chieftain appears to be very old. His long scraggly beard is pure
white; his face is lined with countless wrinkles; and his shoulders are
hunched and rounded. He is bent forward to such a degree that he seems to
suffer from a form of osteoporosis. He is left-handed and walks with a
cane.
Osama is almost always surrounded by fawning attendants who hail him
not as Sultan bin Laden or Emir bin Laden but rather as "awaited
enlightened one," the title reserved for the Mahdi."
The Mahdi is the rightly guided caliph who will appear during the last
days of human history. His coming is foretold by the Haddith, the
sacred teachings that supplement the Quran. In such writings, the Mahdi is
depicted as the figure who will bring forth the "Day of Islam," when all
people throughout the world â believers and unbelievers alike â
will fall in submission before the throne of Allah.
Bin Laden possesses the distinguishing marks of the Mahdi â the high
forehead, the prominent nose, the gap between his teeth, and the black
mole on his face. He is pleased to point out these features to
photographers and reporters from al-Jazeera and other Arabic news outlets.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~explains black turban~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The enemy operatives within Iran included Saad bin Laden, Osama's
eldest son; Yaaz bin Sifat, a top-ranking al-Qaida planner; Mohammed Islam
Haani, the major of Kabul under the Taliban; and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi,
who had been in charge of al-Qaida's attacks on Europe. By spring of
2002, al Zawahiri, bin Laden's top lieutenant, was spotted in Iran, where
he reportedly donned the disguise of an Iranian cleric with a black
turban and a dyed beard.
Within Iran, the al-Qaida guests were placed in safe houses by SAVAMA,
the Iranian intelligence service. These villas, located in southern
Iran, with saunas and swimming pools, are lavish even by American
standards. The operatives remain in this villa at this writing.
Osama bin Laden is alive and well and living in the valley of Dir
within the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan. He has been there since
he escaped from Tora Bora in December 2001.
To substantiate this claim, the mercs produce shabnamas or "night
letters" that are circulated among the various tribes within the frontier.
The night letters contain updates of Osama at work and play and photos
of the al-Qaida leader with Maulvi Sufi Mohamed, an old and revered
Muslim scholar, who maintains a Taliban-style rule over the valley of Dir
with public executions of adulterers, homosexuals, apostates and
Christian infidels.
Mercs point out that news of Osama's whereabouts was even published on
the front page of the Daily Ummat, the leading Urdu language paper of
Karachi, on Aug. 10, 2003. Unfortunately, no one in the U.S. defense
department â let alone the U. S. intelligence community â took heed of
the article with the smiling face of the great emir before the
invasions of Waziristan.
Dir remains within the Malakand Pass, the site of some of the fiercest
skirmishes under the British Raj. A Pakistani army fort still stands
where the young Winston Churchill shot down rebels and received a
citation for heroism. Ironically, it now serves as the headquarters of the
leader of the Mujahadeen who has unleashed a wave of terrorist attacks
against Great Britain.
Despite the bounty, bin Laden remains not only safe and secure in Dir
but also free to travel to other parts of the country, including regular
trips to Peshawar and the smuggler-infested bazaar town of Rebat at the
center of "the Devil's Triangle," the conjunction of the borders of
Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
No Muslim will dare to capture or kill him â not even a squadron of
elite military personnel from the Musharraf government, let alone a
group of professional bounty hunters. It is the duty of all Muslims to
honor the revered leader of the Mujahadeen, who has been ordained to bring
forth the Day of Islam.
What's more, bin Laden is protected by milmastia â the Islamic code
of hospitality that demands protection for fellow Muslims who seek
shelter in their country â even if such protection means risking their
lives. Believing Muslims know that the $25 million reward comes with the
price tag of apostasy and eternal damnation. Mercs point out that
Pakistani soldiers and ISI officials are even unwilling to collar Osama and
his cohorts when they appear in Peshawar. They don't want to go to hell
for money or Musharraf.
Bin Laden remains protected by yet another factor. Any concerted
attempt by the United States to invade any part of the North West Frontier
Province by crossing the 680-mile border between Afghanistan and Pakistan
in an effort to capture the world's most wanted man will be met by the
resistance of the vast majority of 20 million Muslims who inhabit the
formidable area.
Such resistance could lead to the toppling of the Musharraf regime with
the result that Pakistan, with its arsenal of strategic nuclear
weapons, would fall under the control of the radical mullahs, who wait in the
wings.
At present, the way to Dir, according to the mercs, remains strewn with
the bodies of would-be bounty hunters. They have been cast in the pines
beside the dirt road. All have been tortured, stripped naked and
castrated. Their eyeballs have been plucked from their sockets; their ears
have been hacked off; and their tongues have been ripped from their
mouths. Notes have been strapped to the groin of every victim. "Do not be
angry or shocked," the notes say in Pashtu. "These are the bodies of
agents of the USA."
Terrorist007, Irhabi007, Erhabi007;Erjabe007... having a bad day, huh?
