The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Terrorists could be just getting started
Full Story

New York City and Washington. Bali, Indonesia; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Istanbul, Turkey; Madrid, Spain. And now London.

When will it end? Where will it all lead?

The experts aren't encouraged. One terrorism researcher sees the prospect of "endless" war. Adds the man who tracked Osama bin Laden for the CIA, "I don't think it's even started yet."

"U.S. Tells Air France Plane Headed for Chicago to Return to Paris"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CHICAGO (AP) -- An Air France flight en route to O'Hare International Airport was forced to return to Paris Friday after one of its passengers showed up on the federal no-fly list.

More than two hours after Flight AF050 departed from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport - and before it had entered U.S. airspace - it was ordered to return to Paris, authorities said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents found the passenger's name while reviewing the flight manifest against the no-fly list, which they do for all international flights, said Lara Uselding, a spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration.

People on the no-fly list are not allowed to board U.S.-bound flights.

Four people were taken off the plane, the flight's captain, Dominique Mure, told the Chicago Tribune. All of them were later released by French officials, but none re-boarded the plane, he said."

Cindy...in the last two days there have been explosions in Russia, Trinidad, Turkey, Barcelona, and Lebanon. Just keeping a running list of blasts of yet "unknown" origin.

There was also a mine explosion in China...but that seems to be a common occurance.

Yep.
That sounds about right to my tired mind.

My family and I sure feel sorry for those miners in China.
They need to start caring for people and treating the miners
humanely -- starting with much needed safety issues.

Just heard a report on WABC radio that two middle eastern men were spotted in a dinghy taking pictures of the George Washington Bridge. They mentioned that about 100 cop responded. And also added that it is not known if they were just tourists taking pictures. Yeah right! Heading out now -- will check for text on this story later.

Lodi Investigation Shares Traits with probe of New York Town (7/12/05)

Andrew Adams San Joaquin News Service Published on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in the Tracy Press.

LODI — On the surface, not much appears to be in common between a steel belt city long past its boom days and an agricultural town in the Central Valley trying to carve itself a niche in the wine industry.

Dig a bit deeper, however, and one finds that Lodi and the city of Lackawanna, N.Y., share similarities because of their starring roles in the nation’s ongoing war against terror....
