A few things for your consideration.

John Kerry brought Joe Wilson on-board as an advisor and set him up with a website to showcase his now throughly discredited claims. That website had the now comical name of RestoreHonesty.com.

Proof of it's ownership can be seen at the registration data for www.restorehonesty.com and www.johnkerry.com.

A quick search of the internet via Google and INDC Journal, Joe Wilson Update July 28, 2004 notes the demise well before Election Day of "Restore Honesty".

And Wilson's article "What I Didn't Find In Africa" now longer can be found at http://www.johnkerry.com/news/clips/news_2003_0706.html

So in July, we have Kerry redirecting Joe Wilson's internet website URL to the home page of the Kerry campaign, as if Joe WIlson never existed.

Kerry also removed Wilson's Op-Ed claim to Plame, I meant to say fame, from Kerry own website.

The moral of the story is, even John Kerry didn't believe Joe Wilson. Kerry "Restored Honesty" by dumping Joe WIlson.

What I hope happens is the Senate does hold hearings on this matter. We know the Democrats have nothing on the Bush administration, cause if they did, we would have heard about before the election. I say call their bluff and schedule the hearings and start issuing the subpoenas

Good catch. This whole story is virtually dead, IMHO. The press did a huge propaganda campaign on it, but that was a year ago. At this point the public has forgotten who Valerie Plame is, and unsold copies of Joe Wilson's book have been pulped.

I don't think the press can afford to revive these jamokes, because there's too much that's fishy about the whole story.

Good work! Way Back Machine only includes pages for Restoring Honesty up to September 25, 2004. Even the older web pages appear to be "mirrors" of johnkerry.com.

I still think Wilson himself was the leaker. I don't think he actually thought about it, but after it was reported the Democrats saw an opportunity to blame it on Republicans.
Wilson of course agreed to go along with it, because Bush pretty much told him to stuff his fake yellow cake report (because all he did was wine and dine in Africa) up his you-know-what.
They found a few words from Rove that weren't illegal, but took the chance they could spin the story to nail him politically.
That's my insight.

As another Freeper stated on a previous thread, this story is upside down.

The 9/11 Report established that Wilson was full of crap:

He lied about the conclusions of his own report.

He lied to the WaPo

He lied about his wife's involvment.

He posed for an asinine Vanity Fair glamour shot that showed how unserious he was about the whole thing.

Conclusion: We should be investigating Joe Wilson and thanking Rove.
