Let me put it this way. My sister-in-law is trying to figure out what to do. Her two boys are approaching school age, and she doesn't want them to have to attend their neighborhood school which is where she teaches.

This is not an inner city school.

My daughter teaches in the Coronado school system...and I am with you 100%.

Private schools are our only recourse IMO, if we want to assure the youngsters have a leg up in college.

At Culver, my prep school, I was given a choice between Latin or Greek -- and I could take a Romance Language as an elective.

Needless to say, college was a cake-walk, and made enough money working my way through college, I took a pay cut to become a Naval Officer. So there !! *S*
