But Strayhorn does better on job performance
"Texas Republican primary voters would support incumbent Governor Rick Perry over State Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn by a two-to-one margin, according to a recent poll.
"Since the summer of 2001, Montgomery and Associates, an independent research firm based in Austin, Texas, has been running surveys tracking statewide political issues and elected officials. This survey was conducted from June 27 July 1, 2005 and tested 905 Texans who had voted in at least one out of the past two Republican primaries. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.3%.
Montgomery & Associates conducted the survey independently, and has not been paid by any candidate or party. In partisan political races, the firm works for Democratic candidates.

And forget Rick Perry too.
Numbers? If the polls shows its 65-32, Strayhan can call it quits. If it's 40-20, Perry is toast.
Reckon Kinky can get the 45,000+ signatures he needs in order to be on the ballot in the General?.....

Did you know that her first husband, McClellan, claims that LBJ ordered the assassination of JFK? I wonder if she is estranged from the McClellan sons in that seems to be moving Democrat in philosophy while keeping the "R" label.
In the poll by Montgomery & Associates Inc., respondents were asked how they would vote in a gubernatorial primary featuring Perry and Strayhorn. Nearly 55 percent said they would vote for Perry, compared with 29 percent for Strayhorn.
"This race is clearly Governor Perry's to lose," says Jeff Montgomery, president of Montgomery & Associates.
In a similar Montgomery & Associates poll in December, Perry led Strayhorn 56 percent to 30 percent.
