AMONG ONE TIME GOP PRIMARY VOTERS MONTGOMERY POLL SHOWS PERRY 2-1 OVER STRAYHORN IN HEADS UP (TEXAS)

But Strayhorn does better on job performance

"Texas Republican primary voters would support incumbent Governor Rick Perry over State Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn by a two-to-one margin, according to a recent poll.

"Since the summer of 2001, Montgomery and Associates, an independent research firm based in Austin, Texas, has been running surveys tracking statewide political issues and elected officials. This survey was conducted from June 27 – July 1, 2005 and tested 905 Texans who had voted in at least one out of the past two Republican primaries. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.3%.

Montgomery & Associates conducted the survey independently, and has not been paid by any candidate or party. In partisan political races, the firm works for Democratic candidates.

Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn

I'm sorry, but she reminds me WAY too much of Ann Richards.

But I do like this quote:

"I am a common-sense conservative," she said. "I am not a weak leadin', ethics ignorin', pointin' the finger at everyone blamin', special session callin', public school slashin', slush fund spendin', toll road buildin', special interest panderin', rainy day fund raidin', fee increasin', no property tax cuttin', promise breakin', do nothin' Rick Perry phony conservative."

"...905 Texans who had voted in at least one out of the past two Republican primaries."

It would probably be even higher for those who had voted in both primaries.

According to the article, "One Time Primary voters" are Texans who had voted in at least one out of the past two Republican primaries.

If the choices are Perry and Strayhorn, Perry gets my vote.

Strayhorn was the leading Republican votegetter on the November 2002 general election ballot. Why has she overestimated her voter appeal for 2006?

I heard this whining bitch on the radio the other day slandering Perry with rhetoric akin to Shrillary's or Pelosi. Put me right off. I wouldn't vote for this cow if Perry was a known fellon.

Whatever happened to the 11th commandment?

She's been listening to her democrat advisors.

In the 2002 Republican Primary she came in second to Perry.

Governor
RICK PERRY(I) REP 620,463 100.00%

Comptroller of Public Accounts
CAROLE KEETON RYLANDER(I) REP 566,142 100.00%

All those democrats don't vote in the Republican primary, now do they? How did she do compared to Gov. Perry in the Republican Primary as that is where the race will be won or lost for her?

And nobody even remembers her opponent. He might as well have been invisible.

At least Tony Sanchez wasted millions in his attempt to unseat Perry.

special session callin'

There are a few things I don't like about Perry, but I am very thankful that he called those special sessions to overcome the drastic tactics of the Chicken D's and Albuquerque Turkeys.

Meanwhile Grand[ma]stander spent her time whining about them and how we needed to save money for the children.
