A source of what, though? He didn't tell him that she was a covert agent.

One of these days the administration might wake up to the fact that you cannot trust any reporters.

Sorry, when a dizzy blond models herself on the cover of Vanity Fare and then the Democrats complain about her "identity" being revealed after she recommends her dizzier husband to go on a "mission" to Nigeria to discover the orgins of the yellow cake while drinking tea, (OMG! He didn't even know that the yellow cake was not the eating kind) I really care. What is worse, I lost all respect for the CIA. If sending Mr. Dizzy to Nigeria to come to the bottom of the missing yellow cake is the best they can do, that scares the heck out of me. Sheesh. And now the Dummcrats have to blast this CIA failure over and over again. Honestly!

Why is this even a story? This is less of a scandal than Whitewater.

Interesting how they did not mention any of the other sources for the story in Spikie's story.

I'd like to see an investigation of how many Washington reporters knew that Valerie Plame got into a car and drove to Langley each and every morning. There was no secret there -- it was commonly known.

Can someone define "covert" in this discussion?

Apparently Valerie Plame :

1. used her real name.

2. worked in Washington.

3. was known by most everyone to be Joseph Wilson's wife.

4. was not averse to having her picture taken.

5. WAS NOT MAINTAING A "LEGEND", i.e. another identity.

Now what exactly was covert about her? That she worked in the Operations Directorate? Rove did't even tell the reporter what directorate she worked in or her name.

Can someone explain what law was even broken here?

I do not why we are making big deal of this nothing story.

First Rove did not tell Cooper that “Wislon’s Wife” is an undercover CIA agent and he did not know she is an undercover CIA agent.

Second, Rove is not the source for the Bob Novak article that made Valerie Plame name public.

End of the nothing story.

I love how the MSM seems to find a way to take out the "A" in front of the source and and a "THE". And they wonder why no one trust them.

Discovery that earlier denials may have been carefully parsed would represent another blow to the administration's credibility

Hmmm, I never saw this statement during X-42's reign.

If Rove never said her name who did provide it ? Maybe Wilson himself ?

""That said, the disclosure that Mr. Bush's top political strategist discussed the CIA employment of Mr. Wilson's wife amounts to a political embarrassment for Mr. Rove and the White House.""

this is the best they can throw?
