Much ado about nothing, but they will try of course.

From Powerline blog.......

"SCOTT adds: Hilail Gildin writes: "Andrea Mitchell was asked, on MSNBC, whether it was generally known to news people, before the hullabaloo, that Ms. Planme worked for the CIA. She answered, somewhat reluctantly, that it was. In the light of this, I don't understand the ensuing fuss."

They don't bother with this any more Ash. You know why? Because they don't stand for anything, and they know it...

I have to disagree. They do stand for something. They just can't tell anyone because no one wants socialism in this country.

CIA Secret Agent Valerie Plame, pictured above with husband Joseph Wilson, at the big 'Vanity Fair' bash to honor the Tribeca Film Festival. Other guests included: Robert DeNiro, Nicole Kidman, Barry Diller, Willem Dafoe, John McEnroe, David Bowie, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and many others.

So what, exactly, does the Hollywood left want with a CIA secret agent and her low-level diplomat husband? Oh yeah..... stop Bush.

She may have been a security risk, but that still does not exonerate whoever leaked the fact that she was covert (if anyone did). The primary purpose of this law is not just to protect her, but to protect her contacts, as well, who might very well still be in the field.

On the other hand, if no one intentionally leaked the fact that she was covert, then there is no crime.

And Andrea Mitchell is secretly married to Chairman Greenspan, but don't tell anyone.

From what I understand, the staff at National Review knew she worked for the CIA, but were stunned to see it in print.

They think it was common knowledge with the press, but was never reported, and didn't really think anyone told Novak, they figured he just knew like everyone else did.

They were surprised he printed it though.

But the key is that Rove did not disclose that she was covert. He talked to Cooper about her, but did not tell Cooper she was covert. In fact, he did not even know she was covert.

I don't believe that's the case at all. Rove's lawyer claims that Rove disclosed nothing concerning Plame to Cooper. Indeed, some months ago, Rove waived his confidentiality with all reporters. Cooper and the rest are free to reveal any and all discussions they have had with Rove.

It is far more likely, however, that it was Cooper who told Rove about Valerie Plame, her employment at CIA and her relationship to Joe Wilson.

She was NOT covert. There is a time limit on how long the rule is applicable and she was past the time limit. There was no crime!

Watch the moonbats lose their minds AGAIN when this goes nowhere and Rove laughs at them one more time.

And I am sure Alan gives her plenty of "inside tips".

He doesn't have to.

He is allowed to invest out right in stocks, bonds, etc.

He does have a financial portfolio and he is allowed to control it, its not in a trust.

If your wondering about conflict of interest...check out the 1982 court case "Lewis v. United States".

Greenspan can do whatever the heck he pretty much wants with his own money and whatever information he gets or has or knows.

I understand that she was once a covert agent, but the evidence points to her having been known (in Washington social circles) as a CIA agent. The very fact that she was widely known to work at the CIA means Rove couldn't have possibly "outted" her. All he did was state that Wilson had been sent to Africa on her recommendation, which was true.

Wilson had been shown to be a liar and he, the democrats and their mouthpiece MSM wanted to try and embarrass the Administration. So they threw up the "outted" allegations, and they got caught in their own liars web.

There's no way I have ant sympathy for the creeps......

Rove's lawyer today admitted that Rove talked to Cooper about Wilson, and told Cooper that Wilson's wife had suggested sending him to Africa.

So, he apparently admits that he talked to Cooper about this. But there is still no evidence that he told Cooper she was covert.

I don't know why our side persists in trying to muddy the waters on this. It's very simple: He did not tell Cooper she was covert. That is what the law prohibits. All of these other defenses just confuse the issue.

Why go down that road, though? Both Cooper and Rove say that Rove did not say she was covert. Heck, Rove did not even know she was covert, so how could he have outted her? You don't even get to the question of whether someone outted her before Rove. Rove did not do it.

It's simple.

Thanks. I was unaware of that.

Rove's lawyer seemed to take the exact opposite tack until today.

Yeah, he's putting it out bit by bit. But Cooper's notes are now public, and they don't say that Rove told him Plame was covert.

If the left supposedly knew all of this "for many months", why didn't it come out as an "October surprise" before the election? Like the national guard nonsense. If they thought there was a story there that could hurt GWB, they would certainly have made it an issue.

Lawyer said Rove didn't mention her name.

What isn't clear is if Cooper already new about "Wilson's wife."

Unless Novak is a total liar, his first source was not Rove.

They would like to "get" Rove as much, if not more, than the President. This just ain't a "got'cha".
