about 1.5 percent of 3,247 researchers who responded admitted to falsification or plagiarism. (One in three admitted to professional misbehavior.) Article makes the reader think the problem is with medical research. A breakdown by discipline would have helped prevent misconceptions. I suspect some disciplines lend themselves more to misbehavior than others.

He testified that he was working 80 to 90 hours a week, seeing patients, doing surgery, supervising medical residents, serving on 10 committees and putting on national conferences. That is the root of the problem and it explains why my wife often gets such crappy medical care.
