Hi ~ I wanted to let you know that my dear sister, Tammy, passed away unexpectedly on June 30th. She had gastric bypass surgery on June 27, came home from the hospital on June 29th and passed away in the early morning hours of June 30th.
I'm not exactly sure of Tammy's username (something like "texaswarriorprincess") Tammy often talked about her involvement in this site and our family felt we should notify you of her death.
We lost our Dad in October, 2004. I know Tammy shared the news w/ you of my Dad voting prior to his death. He voted from the back of an ambulance while in hospice care.
We are shocked and deeply saddened by her sudden death. She is survived by our Mom, 2 sisters, one brother, and her two daughters.
Please pray for our family.
Me, too, Peach. I have often thought of him, and have related his story several times to the lazy bums I know who whine about everything but can't get off their duffs to vote.
I am deeply moved by this announcement. This is so very sad. She was so young to be taken from us. Like many that pass on before their time, she had packed a lot of living and accomplishments into her too short life. Her picture is very remarkable in that you can almost see to her very soul through her beautiful, warm, expressive eyes. She will be missed. God bless her entire family and may God especially bless her two daughters. God Speed Texas Flower you are home now.
Thanks for that, I've never been able to put it into words.
My family had a huge scare a few years ago, when my sister had what was probably her worst lupus flareup and was bedridden for an extensive period of time. It was something which terrified us all.
I can only hope that her friends on FR will offer some form of consolation to you.
The most sincere of condolences.
Again, this is sad news to hear, especially about a FReeper whose comments I enjoyed reading so much.
Godspeed, G.J.P. (Jr.)
It's like you said on a recent Dose, make the most of everyday and tell your loved ones that you love them. You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Jonny, I have a personal sense of their pain. My mother abandoned me when I was an infant. To this day, well into my middle age, I ache for her. I'm crying right along with you.
I just went to a funeral last week for a friend's husband who also passed away suddenly. At 57, he was much older than Tammy. But the shock is the same. He just went to work one day. After awhile, he suddenly went down on one knee, fell over on his side and died. His wife is waiting for the full autopsy results, but she believes it was a massive heart attack.
Never, ever let a day go by when you fail to tell those closest to you that you love them. Live life to the fullest and don't sweat the small stuff. Howevever it happens for us, we are each on the same path to death. Life is a precious gift. Although her life was far too short, Tammy did good things with hers. Her two daughters will live to bear her grandchildren, and from heaven, she'll be their guardian angel.
thoughts and prayers , plain and simple , deep and forever
Exactly right.
Although you were "cyber-friends," you and Tammy did earn each other's trust making good memories. And if there is life after this, she'll be there to greet you with a "warm wet kiss." [You can't see my sad smile as I write this...]
Prayers for you and your family. So sorry to hear you had such a bad and shocking loss.
Bless you, Wolfstar. I didn't know that about you. I'd hug you if I could.
I share your grief. Please accept my deepest condolences.
You already have. Hugs can be mental as well as physical. I've tried to hug you tonight by way of what I wrote on this thread. So, so sad, isn't it. :-)
If you're around here tomorrow, we can talk again if you want. It's late now and I haven't fed my dogs yet.
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
You have, believe me. I thank God for you, Wolfstar. Although Tammy was/is my favorite, I cherish you and all my other close friends here. God bless you.
Jonny
Prayers sent for Tammy and her family.
