We have seen indications this week, that the quality of the insurgents' expertise in bomb handling as well as their driving skills is somewhat lacking. Six separate incidents this week in AO Liberty in which the AIF blew themselves to the 5th ring of hell.
The week started off well when a report filtered up from one of the Battalions up in the province of Kirkuk about a premature IED explosion along one of our routes. A patrol reported back with the grisly news little bits and pieces of two AIF clowns littering the small crater on the side of the road. Ahhhh, that's too bad, two more heathen bastards off to see the devil. The following day, four AIF were out for a leisurely cruise in their red Opel - by the way - everyone over here owns either a red, black or gray Opel or a white pick up truck - when one of the IEDs they were transporting prematurely detonated. I know, I know, that's a low down dirty shame.
If you ever have been in Manhattan and marveled at the skill or the lack of skill of the taxi drivers piloting their yellow POSs through the organized madness that is New York City, youll like this next one. A driver of a local cab (cabs here are painted white and orange) swerving about in the local streets daydreaming about getting his dream job of a NYC cab driver cuts off a suicide VBIED. The driver of the suicide VBIED mistakenly detonated as he swerved to miss the taxi and splattered himself all over the place far from his intended target.
Then we had the lost soul who decided to turnaround his VBIED by driving over the concrete median. One should avoid big bumps when you are loaded to the gills with old, unstable, jerry-rigged explosives. But hey, it's just a little curb, so over he goes. Bump, Boom, Hey where's my virgins?
Another knucklehead piloting a VBIED here in Tikrit crashed while traveling to his intended destination which launched him out the windshield. The VBIED failed to detonate and he wound up dying of his injuries in the local hospital under guard by the local IPs. Our Commanding General immediately wanted to know his nationality, local or foreign. I sent the inquiry down to * Brigade and got the following response; He is either Syrian or Northern Iraqi but we cannot confirm his citizenship. But by then he was stumbling around in a much warmer climate than here futilely searching for his 72 women.
Unfortunately even Miracle Max couldn't bring this guy back so we could interrogate him and ascertain his nationality.
And of course my favorite.
The Darwin award has to go to the six boneheads that attempted to assault a Battle Position in Samarra. They drove up to a vantage point and sent two of their comrades forward with an IED to emplace near the Battle Position. Of course, as they were running forward with the explosives "Boom" two more * heathens off to pay the devil his due. Run Away, Run Away!! So they detonate the car they drove up in to cover their retreat (yeah that's a brilliant plan, blow up your only mobile escape) and wind up injuring one of their own. The wounded comrade is left behind for the IP to collect up and interrogate for the identity of the survivors. Nice.
The media will not report this because it supports Cheney's statement that the terrorists are grasping for relevance.
Thanks for posting! LOL!
Sweet....
Buckle up!
thanks for posting. More!
It's too bad this can't be front-page news. On the other hand, diligent reporters could find this out themselves.
Dude...
This is not to crack on you and your post. For all I know it could be 100% true. It's just a pet peeve of mine that there are so many of these things floating around, often prefaced with "email from my friend/son/brother/classified source/whatever. You see the same thing posted on multiple sites, each by people claiming that it was written by someone THEY know personally. And there's no way to tell where they came from or how accurate they are...it could be from a platoon leader in Fallujah, or it could be made up by some dude sitting in front of his computer in Omaha. And if it's really classified, somebody should be getting a visit from the CID for sending it in the first place.
Unless there's an actual name of a real person attached, I basically discount this kind of info. Again, not aimed at you personally, just something I wanted to get off my chest.
Keep up the great posts.
Isn't there a way pre-detonate these things. You would think if these dummys can set them off we could do it on a regular basis by pulsing the city. Maybe using a preditor or something. You would think it might be a little harder to recruit these assh-les if they didn't know when the Kaboom was coming. All it takes is doubt to slow these bastards down with the IED's
Since I have trouble screwing in light bulbs these ideas are probably rather lame.
That was great, thanks for posting.
You're so welcome!! I'm glad I took the time to get permission.
Suit yourself - but my source is not only a former military person, he is a retired CHP officer. I trust HIS sources.
Nobody is requiring you to police this thread - or read anything on it.
Some of the greatest info on the war is reported to friends, family....even in private replies on FR. The majority of this info is never posted nor made public, for obvious security reasons. Are all these type email/posts real? No. But it's usually easy to spot "B.S." when it surfaces. Regards.

Maybe no one's 'splained it?
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you - THE INFORMATION WASN'T "CLASSIFIED" - THE AUTHOR IS - BECAUSE HE'S IN IRAQ AND I'M NOT GOING TO REVEAL WHO HE IS.
LUMP IT!!
Relax CA, good post.
They're too busy saving their own fanny - sitting in a bar in the hotel.
Well .. from what I've read about EMP - pulsing the city would shut down the city - I don't think that would have the exact effect you were hoping for. Of course, if you can target EMP - fine - but if you don't know where the IED's are .. then you couldn't target them.
LOL!
Good read!
Almost made me snort my drink out my nose.
Thanks!
Sometimes .. "relax" is not the answer!!
