I would say that she died a martyr. Not a martyr for Christianity, but a martyr as someone who had her life taken away from her, and who endured great suffering, especially near the end.

Well said..

"Schiavo lost her ability to function physically or mentally on Feb. 25, 1990, after her heart stopped as a result of an eating disorder."

Nobody knows why her heart stopped. An eating disorder was one theory, it remains unproven.

A most sentimental and lovely tribute.

Anyone who suffered and died the way Terri did, goes straight to heaven. That means they are a saint. They should begin the beatification process.

How touching for Father to compare Terri's situation to St. Theresa of the Little Flower (my patron Saint so I am particularly moved).

I am glad to see the Schindler foundation is undergoing reorganization and Bobby will be running it.

That video, in which Terri's eyes go up and back, to follow the balloon when it was placed behind her, proves Terri was not blind, at least then.

Your position on Terri's case is despicable. You should be ashamed. You will answer for it one day and you will be sorry.

"A miracle, I tell ya!"

Very easy to be mocking. Not as easy to be decent and sincere.

I believe the article is referring to the new Ave Maria being built on the west side of Florida. It is being funded by the Dominoes Pizza family, if I remember correctly. Lemme look that up.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who recently was rebaptized Pope Benedict XVI.

Rebaptized? I'm not the brightest of Catholics, but I never heard of rebaptism when someone becomes pontiff.

The Eating Disorder was ruled out by the autopsy and the M.E. found the Heart to be very healthy with no damage present. Hence, it really looks like O2 deprivation via Strangulation, denial of blood flow and hence O2 to the brain. Bad news for the HINO!

Terri's got that one locked up. Remember when she followed the balloon with her eyes, even though it was found later that she was blind?

A miracle, I tell ya!

There are some who see yet are blind -I would suggest the reverse would hold true as well. Regardless, blindness if objectively proven should not be cause for murder or assisted suicide...

Terri is dead -move on vulture...

"... in which Terri's eyes go up and back, to follow the balloon ..."

You were duped. Look at the video closely -- the balloon is following her eyes, not vice versa.

"blindness if objectively proven should not be cause for murder or assisted suicide..."

On that, we agree. Know of any murders or assisted suicides where the individual was blind? I don't.

"Terri is dead -move on vulture..."

Nah. I think I'll hang with you guys for a while. See what's goin' on.

Yes, that was the death doctor who said she was tracking the balloon. Of course, once they kill somebody, most people are blind. Is that what you mean by "later"?

As a matter of fact I read the article pretty thoroughly., I also read the thread. It took me a while to figure out who you guys were calling the HINO since that isnt mentioned in the article, and I skip most Schivavvo threads because of people who feel their opinion is the only one with worth, and have a tendency to flame any other views. You see you ignored Post 20 and post 12 and you jumped directly onto me. Also you obviously didnt read my Post as it tells outright the qualifications for Sainthood.

I am glad they have a Scholarship fund named for Terri perhaps it will do some good, It will be the only good to come from this thing. Terri is dead and her husband has been vilified, The judge has been vilified, Jeb Bush has taken a hit, The nursing home and even Hospice has been called an institution of death. Perhaps Hospice is an institution of death, but thank God for them, I hope you never have to use them.

As for her husband being fired from MacDonalds, I didnt know he worked there . Pretty bad for a guy that you folks say has Millions in Terri's money if he has to work at MacDonalds.Or are you being facetious?

I watched the video closely. Several times. And I see Terri's strained effort to follow the ballon.

It is you who were duped. Your position on this issue couldn't be MORE wrong and shows your lack of judgement and your complete lack of ability to discern. You sided with the leftist on this issue and you were on the DARK side. Shameful for a person of your intelligence.

A Pope does not get rebaptized. He takes a name. I also noticed a few other errors in the story, like St. Therese as the "little flower of Lysciu" - that's Lisieux. Ah well. I hope this isn't the religion reporter for the paper...
