What are the chances the man is a fan of the movie "Team America: World Police"?

I was reading comments yesterday on another site that blamed Bush and Blair for these attacks. Said that they should both resign because it's clear now that the WOT is a failure.

Sad that some feel it an appropriate time to play politics.

Hey Mad, is your football season still going?

That is one thing that always worries me now with these bloody terrorist.

I will say one thing though, God help anyone who tried to muck around with your football.

I wouldn't want some of the people I have seen in those crowds after me.

Chinatown is being evacuated in B'Ham, BBC is reporting that this could be VERY serious now, people are being able to leave the city centre, but NO ONE is being allowed in.

It's sounds like mayhem there.

I remember where I was on 9/11, and the contempt and hatred that I had that day.

Such a mixture of anger and sorrow as I have never had before, and it is still with me full strength.

As an aside, I had a flight scheduled for the 13th. My wife was VERY concerned. I noted that we were safer on the 12th than we were on the 10th - the most care, most paranoia if you will, is present shortly after an attack. My hope is that Birmingham is safe and the event is nothing more than an understandable caution.

Sounds like George Galloway gets around. If he's not online surfing for new totty (his wife divorced him because he had a roving eye) he obviously is spewing idiocy on message boards.

Sad that some feel it an appropriate time to play politics.

Quite.

Pretty high I'd say.

I'm really annoyed now. They are closing Broad Street apparently and the aparment I am in overlooks it. WE have police helicoptors hovering over the BT tower and masses of people drifting to the pubs on the fringes of the city centre instead. I'll be cheesed off if someone has planned to bomb my flat!

This is a very fast moving situation.

The police are taking this very seriously.

According to the Beeb, in the Midlands alone, there have been several false alarms in the last few days alone.

There are reportedly 4,000 people on the street as a result of this alert.

News conference at 2200 BST.

No, season's over....the Premiership begins again in August.

Hmmm, perhaps this isn't a coincidence.

This is one thing terrorists do . . . make you start at every little sound.

Not that authorities shouldn't respond to intelligence and other info, but it is nonetheless the work of terrorists to create this environment.

Sky News report here:
http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1188565,00.html

BIRMINGHAM TERROR THREAT

West Midlands Police have warned the public of intelligence suggesting a possible threat to Birmingham city centre.

No vehicles are being allowed past the inner ring road as a result of the threat.

However, bars, restaurants and clubs are not being closed.

"We understand the impact this (the road closures) will have on people and will keep the situation under review and advise the public appropriately," a police spokeswoman said.

"West Midlands Police are issuing a public warning to people who may be visiting Birmingham city centre tonight after they received intelligence to suggest a threat to the city centre.

"Our response needs to be proportionate in the actions we are taking and informing the public.

"We are not closing bars, restaurants or clubs but we are asking for them to be searched and for people entering the premises to be searched."

Outlining details of the road closures, the spokeswoman continued: "There will be a higher police presence in the city centre and access by vehicles will be limited.

"No vehicles will be allowed past the inner ring road into the city centre."
