I think his team will respond, it might be good that this happened today before the battle is really joined.

26 for me today.
The great thing about where I ride is the path. I can hit the path and do my miles without stopping. Nice to be able to hit a pace and hold it.

What town are you in? Austin's great for riding - both road and mountain. Plenty of roads w/ wide shoulders and minimal lights. I only had to stop once on my ride today. I hate stopping...

It's too early to sleep! Have a good ride.

Lance ripped Team Discovery after the stage. He basically was hung out to dry by his teammates today and subsequently had to chase down each break away on his own.
A tough day for him. I hope he and the entire team are playing possum for tomorrow's difficult, long stage.

You know, I'm sure it's great and all for those of you who like it, but I just can't get excited about a bicycle race. It just doesn't do anything for me. I know, I know, these are all great athletes, and it's a test of endurance, guts, etc...etc. Sorry, doesn't do a thing for me.

I was thinking the same thing. I told my wife that it smacked of a mental game.
The other teams exerted a lot of energy today. Lance did too, but his team should be fresher tomorrow. I'd look for some Discovery attacks tomorrow to try and break up T-Mobile.

I ride in Bakersfield, CA. There is an excellent path that runs along the Kern river. I have a couple miles and a couple of signals before I get to the path, but after that, you've got about 25 miles of uninterrupted riding, from one end to the other. Bakersfield is fairly bicycle friendly, but I'm with you. I hate stopping, so I hit the path and move right along.
There are a couple of pretty good climbs here, too. But, when I really feel the need to get in some hill work, I head to the coast and ride with friends out there.
And, yes, there is some pretty good mountain biking in the area, too.

This is nuts!
17:19 - Smallest Winning Margin...?
The official timing system has sensors on every bike in the race. The finish of todays stage was so close that a photo had to be used to determine the winner. Its difficult to tell if Pieter Weenings tyre was ahead of Andreas Klodens but the timing system declared the Rabobank rider the winner.
The winning time was just 0.0002 of a second!

I could not tell them apart. But, hey, it was fun to see Weening get his moment in the sun after all the work he did by himself up the mountain.
Cheers.
