"Homicide bomber is the right phrase. The intent was too kill other people"

Homicide Bombe is a stupid phrase, made up as far as I can tell by Fox News. (Though I do respect Fox, it's one of the more dumb things that they have done)

It's the same as "hate crime"...pretty much all bombings are "homicide" bombings..

I haven't heard of any "foot massage bombings"

Suicide bombing indicates the specific type of attack where a person explodes himself along with the bomb.

"Homicide bombing" is a concocted, artificial and stupid phrase. As if "suicide bombings" are not bad enough or something.

A homicide bomber doesn't have to participate in the act of death. It is an option. It only requires that the intent is to kill people, not just damage property. A homicide bomber may take an inclusive part and commit suicide to achieve the objective.

A suicide bomber may be intent on only doing property damage and killing himself/herself. If the intent extends to others, it becomes homicide.

The reason the phrase was coined is to jab a stick in the eye of the jihadists who regard an act of suicide in pursuit of jihad to be a noble act. I refuse to acknowledge an act of suicide as a noble act. As such, I will continue to use the homicide bomber label to properly characterize the murderous intent of Islamic terrorists.

Note that being killed oneself is a hallmark of the suicide bomber. Just killing someone else is less personal and shows less commitment to the cause.

The Tamil Tigers invented the modern technique; others utilize it.
