If the explosives are found to have originated from a Country that is supporting, training, funding, and equipmenting the terrorist, then we should NUKE them till they glow from space!

Unit the the USA gets on a war footing, we will NEVER win the war on terror. These terrorist are NOT criminals, they are enemy combatants and should be killed as such, not given due process rights, and attorneys to argue there defenses for them!

The Liberals in this Country should be focused on disarming the terrorist, instead of disarming Americans! The American people are the last line fo defense, and taking their weapons is like asking us to fight with one arm tied behind our backs!

We can start fighting terrorism right here in the Congress and the Senate by eliminating the Liberals that are giving aid and comfort to our enemies!

Our Prayers are with everyone in Britain and we stand firm with them in their time of need, just as all Americans have in both world wars, and now in the WWIII.

Two unexploded bombs? I think that they should be returned to sender. Pick a place - Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan, Kosovo, Chechnia. Place the packages in a crate and drop them with half a million pounds of ordinance. Repeat until no further packages arrive.

Follow up with liberal use of ground troops.

It is part of the response plan to shut down all cellphone service. Many of the terrorists use cell phones to remotely detonate the bombs - they wire a cellphone to the detonator cicuit so when the cellphone rings the bomb explodes. If you disable all cellphone service, the terrorists are not able to dial-up the cellphone and have it trigger the detonator.

The US has this cell phone shutdown feature in effect as well - as soon as an authorized LEO or government agency determines there is a legitimate bomb threat they can directly disable cell phone towers in the affected area(s) - even without contacting the cell phone carriers. They have this feature implemented in almost all major metro cellphone areas.

She said that this morning none of the cell phones were working. Could this be because of the new technology that we have (I assume the British too) where we can put out an EMP of sorts that turns off the cell signals. They spoke of doing that during the conventions at one point.

hmmm...more likely a result of everyone trying to use their cellphones at the same time.

That's handled through software, too - it's a filter, only certain phone IDs are allowed to make calls, or they're given priority, or only x number of "normal" phone IDs are allowed to make calls, etc..

Shutting down the entire civvie cell system is preferable, IHMO. The Brit first responders use regular digital radios more than anything else.

I was thinking the same thing.

Everyone is calling this a "Well organized attack planned for years" which is a bunch of BS. We aren't exactly calling in an Air strike, naval bombardment, while the the 1st AD is approaching from the north, 3rd AD approaching from the south, and the 2 Seal Teams blowing out a couple of Key bridges to create choke points. That's a well organized attack that requires a some prior thought.

Making a couple a few bombs that can be made with household items (or bought from the black market) and finding a couple of idgets to ride the Subway requires the IQ of a fruitful. Which is why it's dangerous and freaken scary.

Maybe by calling it a well thought out attack is an attempt to hide the fact that anyone could do this at pretty much any time.

Oh. UXO is generic for anything that might go boom, but hasn't.

UXB is specific to air-dropped ordinance.

Clearly, what we are dealing with here is UXIED - but, that is all semantics.
