Anyone interested in counter protesting? Kansas City Freepers should checkout this site. I'm tired of seeing these missguided people go without a counter protest.

How about someone dresses up as a Drill Sergeant and gives the hippies the full Sgt. Hartman routine? I volunteer to show up and give 100 pushups for our troops. :-)
I also imagine the recruiters would be quite amused.
I know it's frustrating, I end up yelling out my car window at how stupid they all look when I see them with their "blood for oil" signs, but you have to understand these people are ALWAYS wrong and they keep proving it over and over again. Everyone knows it, especially those that agree with them.
Don't give them a sounding board. Don't draw attention to dumbasses where everyone knows they are extraneous prix!
A year or two ago I would have come to KC to CP with you, but today would be counter productive, IMO...
I'll take a day off to do that. Can't be this monday though.
Keep me posted.
The problem with that scenario is that the armed services do not want a draft. But, it would be funny to watch them pulling endless duties of picking up trash, pulling weeds, cleaning weapons, and--why not--polishing officers' boots.
I was the guy who drove by and gave you a thumbs up 7 "go freeper......"
I believe you have some knowledge that would be useful on this thread. Help please.
Silence implies approval.
Sure, I'd love to join you, but the drive from Maryland is a little long. Besides, I have a job--every day, I put on camouflage patterned pajamas, (somewhat) shiny black boots, and a misshapen black beret and go out and battle the forces of Microsoft Excel. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. (And why am I on a Missouri board? Because the topic looked interesting!)
Go for it! Even if you end up by yourself, go for it!
Take the biggest American flag you can carry and one sign with few words and large letters that lets passersby know which side you are on. (I love protest warrior signs!)
Seeing displays of support for our Troops always gives me a boost and I'm sure the recruiters would love it, especially since they cannot respond to the protesters!
These people are morons. WHO has mentioned the possibility of a draft? NOBODY...well nobody since Kerry was running...

I agree with you -- counter them, counter them, counter the LIVING CRAP out of them.
1) They are not used to opposition, they are used to thinking they have a monopoly on the First Amendment. That is UNACCEPTABLE.
2) We may draw more attention to them but we draw even MORE attention to ourselves when we counter them. The amount of increased attention they get from us countering them is moderate, the increased attention to US is a much greater increase. PEOPLE NEED TO SEE THEM GETTING COUNTERED!
3) As we've already been given examples in here, soldiers and their families get a SHOT IN THE ARM from seeing us counter them. This alone makes it worth it.
COUNTER THEM, COUNTER THEM, COUNTER THEM. If they get abusive and even violent, MAKE SURE it is videotaped. What could undermine the cause of a peace protestor more than said peace protestors with red, screaming faces getting abusive and violent? The effect this can have on fence-sitters or the otherwise uninvolved who observe this firsthand or on the news cannot be overestimated.
COUNTER THEM, COUNTER THEM, COUNTER THEM. Wherever they go, we are their shadow. They cannot be allowed hide from us anymore, they cannot be allowed to have a one-sided debate anymore because we are not there, they cannot be allowed to monopolize the First Amendment anymore because we are not there. They cannot be allowed to shout brainless slogans and substitute emotions for fact anymore without being forced to logically defend their positions in public. WE CAN NO LONGER NOT BE THERE.
COUNTER, COUNTER, COUNTER, COUNTER, COUNTER -- they are the ones who fired on Fort Sumter and started a war to keep the world enslaved by first Communism and now Islamo-fascism. We must FIRE BACK. An entire world is at stake.
GET IN THEIR FACES AND COUNTER THEM UNTIL THE LANGUAGE OF LIMP-WRISTED LEFTISM AND NIHILISM AND DECONSTRUCTIONISM AND POSTMODERNISM AND WHATEVER-PHILOSOPHY-WE-HAVE-TO-INVENT-TO-DESTROY-AMERICA-ISM IS SPOKEN ONLY IN A WHISPER IN BASEMENTS AT MIDNIGHT.
I enlisted at the MEPS station near Union Station in 1987, Navy. As for the protesters, Wimpus Patheticas........losers
I'm a field Freeper. I have seen the way the media covers protests change radically (for the better) because Freepers are there. I have had current soldiers tell me that what I do matters. I have had old vets (including some who've spent a lot of time in VA hospitals) tell me the same thing. I've seen minor opposition throw the enemy into dicombobulated disarray, and I've seen media outlets give a whole story to one Freeper because he protested a meeting of 20 or more useful idiots.
I and a few of my comrades put a 100 member peace group out of business, just by being in the field, and hardcore, and professional and courteous. If we followed your lead, Jim Wasser would have come to my town and had a totally unopposed platform to say that John Kerry was the war hero to end all war heroes. Because we were there, he had to sweat, and the media gave us great coverage. The stuff we do on the street matters. It changes things. Get out there and do something. Don't tell your kids you spent the war shoveling horse crap in Louisiana.
"Maggot infested hippies" is really a euphemism for these worthless creeps.

It's always been like Mardi Gras for them, a good time, a great "experience". So they're encouraged to do it over and over. If people only see them, they believe they're a significant portion of the public, when they're not.
Also, the counters provide people with hope. Remember when you found FR and felt encouraged by how many people think like you and that they weren't like the "average" American?
I was attending law school in Kansas City when the embassy was taken in Iran. An Iranian student parade in support of the Ayatollah made the grave error of passing the Colonial bakery in Westport just as a shift change was happening. The indignities inflicted upon the marchers by the patriotic workers were magnificent. The police took a full ten minutes deciding how to best break it up before taking any action. Come on, KC, you can do it again!
