Breaking news - Governor Romney has just announced the threat level has been elevated to orange in Boston and four other cities.
n,
Yeah right.
Cops are too busy running radar traps, and I can guess the reception you'd get if you walked into the nearest FBI branch asking to see photos of terrorists.
I think you are right that it should be reported, but am not at all confident that anything would be done with the report.
That's some taxpayer funded urban renewal I'll support.
Possible IED in Washington. Area cleared, bomb squad on the way. That's all I have.
I think you are wrong.
If people do NOTHING that is an edge for these animals.
Besides can't a person verbally describe who they saw and later match it up with known photos? GEESH! It's dumb clucks like this that indirectly aide these animals by doing nothing.
I think Gov. Romney listed those major east coast hubs all together as increasing their vigilance in light of the London terror -- without getting into details. Some cities, like NYC since 911 and DC of late already operate at orange but even so they may harden targets even more in visible and/or invisible ways.
Since 911, during the times when the entire nation moved up in alert status, few media or officials mentioned that NYC already operated at an increased alert status. I think it is just too wordy for them to explain completely.
Threat level Orange. That means the TSA will be patting down more little old ladies at the airport
I'm in Atlanta. Have heard nothing about raised alert here. I'm monitoring local talk radio, and TV.
I didn't say to do nothing; I'm all for filing as many reports as necessary.
I just think that they get filed, forgotten, misplaced etc and rarely land in the hands of the people who could actually have an impact.
I'm skeptical, that's all.
Well they have an army of illegals ready to help with their anarchy.
Yeah, that's no shite either.
I was travelling a bit in 02 and 03. I took off my belt and shoes so many times, I was beginning to think I should be getting some $1 bills thrown my way.
I'm 6'1, weigh 230, white, and shaved head. Yup, that's your basic muslim terrorist look, alright.
They mentioned Atlanta on television. Maybe they were talking about all large cities with subway systems. I'll check some more.
"The governor said he raised the alert at 6:15 a.m., following the London explosions. At 7:40 a.m. the U.S. Homeland Security Department asked authorities in Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Washington and New York to increase their vigilance of transportation systems, Romney said."
Oh, I think I can find photos online without having to bother FBI/Homeland Security.
Atlanta Police has my cell number, I'm sure, if they want to call me back. At least I've reported this man. Maybe others have, too. My good guess is if he's gathering info for a terrorist attach, the attach won't come today.
Perhaps unmarked cops were onto him within minutes. I don't know. Kind of hard to stop a cyclist (on a granny bicycle at that) and ask him what he's doing.
*sigh*
Yes, it makes more sense to do what you think you're supposed to do: contact the authorities and make a report. I would.
I just don't like *hoping* that the right folks are involved from the get-go. I'd rather be assured that they would be.
Standing by.........
They don't need orders from above or lateral communication, unfortunately. All some US cell needs to do is see this on the news, and decide autonomously that today is the day, in order to capitalize on world chaos.
More fluff just in case there are lawsuits later on. What these morons call "heightened security" is just increased hassassment of American citizens, increased averted glances to avoid profiling, and measures that don't have any affect on thwarting terrorism. Have you ever noticed that they protect government facilities, but never more likely civilian targets?
What could have possibly prevented one?
