I agree.. personal freedoms are quite meaningless if you or those you love are killed because the killer creeps rights/freedoms are protected.
I have nothing to hide..
I have things I would like kept confidential.
However, if law enforcement believes they need greater access to such types of information to protect me and my American neighbors, they are welcome all of that.
