Actually found a pic of the Thune family. I'm trying to figure out the girls' genetic makeup. Neither mom or dad are redheads...

Sometimes it skips a generation or two. Red hair runs strongly in my family (I've got it myself), and I have a cousin with flaming red hair despite the fact that both his parents are brunette.

Thune's daughters did a fairly humerous (and by all accounts effective) campaign ad for their father's successful campaign to unseat Senator Daschle, which is where I first saw them. Yeah, they're high schoolers, so I hope I'm not going to hell for finding them attractive. Senator Thune, if you're reading this, please don't have me killed.

BTW, the TV spot the Thune girls did is the only campaign ad I've ever seen where the required disclosure ("I'm John Thune, and I approve this message") came in the middle, rather than at the beginning or the end.

Post your picture, and WE will decide if you're worthy!

Hey, I never said that she'd hit me, did I?

If both parents have the non-dominant redhead gene, it can become dominant in their offspring. A 25% or 50% chance. I forgot the genetics. There are 4 ways genes can go...

You never know when a redhead will pop up....my brother and I are both redheads (he's an auburn, while mine is "just the same color as a gingersnap"). My maternal grandfather was a redhead and I have one paternal aunt who is also one.

I have a huge family with dozens of cousins, but only my brother and I were blessed with the firey locks.

Neither of my parents are redheads, and neither my brother nor I had any redheaded children : ( .

On another but similar note, both my parents have green eyes, while my brother's are dark blue, and mine are such a pale blue that many people ask if I'm blind! (All our children have blue eyes, BTW.)

Genetics is a fascinating thing...always full of surprises!

Regards,

PS: Jenna and Barbara are very attractive young ladies. I hope they both find good men to marry one day.

The dad might have dark auburn hair. It wouldn't necessarily show up in the photo. Also, the mom may be a "strawberry blond" which is akin to red head.

Neither were my parents, and yet...here I am. :) Just a throwback to my great-grandfather I've been told. A couple of recessives is all it takes. :)
