Jenna Bush a hit in Europe

In a nod to the Live 8 rock benefit generation, maybe to meet U2 frontman Bono or perhaps just because she is on summer vacation, first daughter Jenna Bush is accompanying her parents to the Group of Eight summit in Scotland and is wowing the Europeans.

"The girls are not there to do anything official," a White House spokesman said yesterday, speaking of Jenna and Barbara Bush, 23, who will join first lady Laura Bush on an educational trip to Africa later this week. Nevertheless, the blond first daughter, who has become the object of fascination among the VIPs, was unofficially a hit.

Although, I do take exception to poor word choice by the writer of the article, who mentions that Jenna has become "the object of fascination..."

She is a person, a very animated one, and ought to be mentioned correctly as the "subject" of fascination.

Just my nitpickin' two bits' worth.

All right. I will say this about the Barbara/Jenna vs. Chelsea issue. The Bush twins have a sort of wholesome naturalness to their beauty, while Chelsea's present state of attractiveness required a lot of effort to achieve. Rhinoplasty, apparently some work on the chin, hair coloring and straightening, and clearly thousands of dollars worth of orthodontia. I'm not sure if the Bush daughters had anything done (orthodontic work wouldn't surprise me), but they don't look it.

And given the choice between either of the Bush daughters and Chelsea, it's no contest... the Bushes are way hotter. If I had to pick between them, now that would be tough. It'd depend on the occasion. I'd take Jenna to a nightclub, Barbara to a black-tie dinner.

I'd just like to finish off with two more points:

But the true connoisseur of politicians' daughters will not overlook Brittany and Larissa Thune, a pair of stone cold hotties if ever there was one. (Boy, I sure hope they're old enough for me to say that.) Gotta love those tasty redheads.
