I am beginning to think most of the world is using a CPAP these days! It really seems to help my husband.

BTW, I love your tagline.

Great! Well, it's good to have you back as yourself. Computer trouble is the most frustrating thing in the world. I think I'd rather have a flat tire in the middle of rush hour!

I got 1776, but haven't read it yet. What did you think of it?

Really great book. Colorful, fascinating, a page turner...with many lessons for today in the history of that first year of the Revolutionary War.

I'd like it to be required reading for all high school student.

Would you be willing to mail your book to Iraq or Afghanistan after you finish reading it?

The best part of London winning the bid was that France was beaten out of it, especially after the snotty remarks Chiraq made about British Cuisine

Yes and the Fins have hit back today because he said that only they had worse food so he has really endured himself to his fellow EU partners.

THIS IS GREAT. DONE TONGUE IN CHEEK
FROM JOHN GIBSON FOX NEWS

Missed Opportunity

Wednesday, July 06, 2005

By John Gibson

You may have noticed the news out of Singapore Wednesday:

The host city for the 2012 Olympics (search) was picked. New York was out early and that was a big relief to me, personally. I think New York needs a rest from big events. All that security wears on you.

Then it was down to Paris and London. And the Olympic big wigs picked London.

All day long people have been saying to me, "Wasn't it great they didn't pick Paris?" And I've been saying, "No, no, no."

Paris was exactly the right place to pick and the Olympic committee screwed up.

Why? Simple. It would have been a three-week period where we wouldn't have had to worry about terrorism.

First, the French think they are so good at dealing with the Arab world that they would have gone out and paid every terrorist off. And things would have been calm.

Or another way to look at it is the French are already up to their eyeballs in terrorists. The French hide them in miserable slums, out of sight of the rich people in Paris.

So it would have been a treat, actually, to watch the French dealing with the problem of their own homegrown Islamist terrorists living in France already.

What would the French have done about rounding up their own citizens?

Would they have afforded their own terrorists the rights they insist we give the detainees at Gitmo? Not a chance. They'd throw them in the clink, or ship them off to North Africa pronto.

Would they have blocked terrorists at the border with unreasonable search and seizure — precisely what they say we should not do? Of course they would. Anybody looking faintly Arab would have had the gendarmerie on them in a flash.

It would have been a delight to have Parisians worried about security instead of New Yorkers. It would have been exquisite to watch.

But, alas, they picked London. I like the Brits. I like London. I hate to see them going through all this garbage when it would have been just fine in Paris.

C'est la vie. Goes to show the Olympic committee doesn't recognize the perfect opportunity when it presents itself.

That's My Word.

Glædelig fødselsdag, Hr. President!Taler de Danske, Radiohead? My grandmother came from Denmark, in 1890. I took two of our sons to Copenhagen and the older one quickly became fluent in Danish. When you were studying in England, did you get a chance to visit Denmark? Copenhagen is an interesting city to visit.

What Is Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)?

Nasal CPAP delivers air into your airway through a specially designed nasal mask or pillows. The mask does not breathe for you; the flow of air creates enough pressure when you inhale to keep your airway open. CPAP is considered the most effective nonsurgical treatment for the alleviation of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea

It is a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine or people who have sleep apnea. It produces a constant flow of air into their lungs and keeps them breathing steadily throughout the night.

Before my husband had his he would quit breathing hundreds of times an hour throughout the night. If he had just snored, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but with the stopped breathing he would thrash around and not start breathing again until he woke up a bit. Severe sleep deprivation is often the result. He feels much better now that he is using it.

And the bonus...I sleep with Darth Vader! ; )

Oooh, it would be great to go to London for the 2012 Olympics.

We were living in Los Angeles during the 1984 Olympics and they were a lot of fun....Peter Uberoth did a great job of organizing them.

One of our favorite pictures of my husband's daughter is one I took of her in the stadium showing the screen behind with Joan Benoit, the first women's marathon winner, in the lead.

I like to think that the deciding vote on the Olympics were votes from Finnish members of the committee. HAH!

Governor Mitt Romney, who headed the Los Angeles Olympics, said as much today on Fox.

Hoist on his own petard, was Chirac. Most excellent!

A side bonus was that Hillary Clinton, who was stumping for New York, was shown to have ZERO international influence! HAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah, Ole Chiraq killed his goose when he said British cuisine was even worse than Finnish.

In a 50-54 vote loss, Finland had 2 votes.

Is it me, or does Prince Henrik look a bit like Bawney Fwank?

That may not be a coincidence. While I was working in Denmark my boss told me that after the prince produced an heir and a spare he was free to pursue his own, um, interests.

Queen Margarete, however, is pure class. The Danish people love her.

Trivia point: she's a chain smoker.
