Per Fox News...
I am itching to know what Fitzgerald is really after. I don't think the leak is the only thing he's interested in.
Oh, and let me say again that Shep Smith is an absolute idiot.
Ooops! A troll alert.
My memory sucks, but didn't the SHE-DEVIL take to the senate floor and accuse W and his administration of making up the WMD and Yellowcake? I remember something to that effect. Don't quote me as I'm having a hard time remembering time lines! I really believe this goes back to a plan cooked up by the VOMIT from NY!
He's got the integrity of a snake, and as I've posted above -- I would NOT be surprised if he was implicated. I still don't get the leaker greenlighting Cooper to reveal he/she, unless they have an agenda unknown to us at this time, which is definitely a possibility. Miller will pen a book and be lauded all over the tube in the fall, unless she caves. Cooper probably, too or they'll write the book together.
BTW how about Fred Thompson working with the President to get his nomination through.
I actually don't think we will ever know the real source(s) because of the secret GJ and the fact that a crime was probably not committed or at least is subjective to what the criminal act would be.
Am I the only one who is still nervous about this? I'm building my confidence reading the posts and following along and will be thrilled if this goes our way but.... The upside is a bit of private enjoyment that will barely hit the MSM and if it goes against us it will be built into something larger than life.
Wonder if Fred Thompson was a ploy to get media attention away from other attorneys who are helping the President do the interviewing. Each judge that meets with Thompson will be discussed by the media. Thompson can't hide.
Bush is discreet.
In any case Fred Thompson has the conservative credentials. Has a life time senate record with ACU of 86%
That's a point I tried to evoke earlier in this thread. Something changed. I suggest that enough testimony has been leaked to those in the know that they may now think they know where the investigation is going and who the target may be. I suggest that they are backpeddling but...Miller's got another problem.
I betcha Cooper begged his source to set him free from their agreement. Did you notice Cooper's statement? He was parsing words about the call he got this morning...no mention if his source was returning Cooper's calls, or responding to pleas from Cooper. And I find it ludicrous that Cooper needed a special, and different release from his confidentiality agreement. I'm not buying it for a second.
Fitzgerald had disclosed Tuesday that a source of Cooper and Miller had waived confidentiality, giving the reporters permission to reveal where they got their information. The prosecutor did not identify the source, nor did he specify whether the source for each reporter was the same person. "Cooper said he had been told earlier that his source had signed a general waiver of confidentiality but that he did not trust such waivers because he thought they had been gained from executive branch employees under duress. He told the court that he needed not a general waiver but a specific waiver from his source, which he did not get until Wednesday" (Why no mention of this earlier? An outta the blue miracle????? Not buying it!!!)
John King of CNN just told Bob Franken, "logic tells me, Miller and Cooper have two different sources". Score another well deserved DUH for King.
My point is though, that the investigation is beyond the leak of Plame's name.....and perhaps into the investigation of the forged documents themselves. Remember, Wilson acknowledged the forgeries well before they were in the hands of the CIA (he said he misspoke about that, IIRC). That is where I think this investigation is going, based solely on gut feeling and a giant wag (wild a$$ guess). :-)
There has to be more to this then the leak -- beginning to think this has been about more from the beginning but the media was feeding us what they wanted us to know. Wondered why the leak was such a big deal and think it might have been a smoke screen!
That was one of the easiest trolls to find yet except for the vanity ones.
He is a complete dimwit, unless covering car chases. Brit Hume must have made a bee-line to the local pub after realizing how stupid the Fox anchor for prim-time is.
LOL
It was true---a bunch of us simultaneously posted what an idiot he was sounding like. Aggravating! And then he waxed on later about the freedom of the press. He was ticked because his emails were from people applauding reporters getting jail.
I guess he hasn't noticed the propensity of our free press to publish flat out lies lately (or being caught lately).
Yes, I like Thompson.
Still, I'd want my judges to be interviewed quietly -- protecting them and my own search.
Agreed, I think naming Fred Thompson was a way to get public support for the nominee.
It is not a Republican and I would bet on that. I know people don't like Powell but this was a lower level CIA operative and Powell had enough to worry about at State which is one reason I don't seem him as the leaker.
CIA was filled with Clintonites some of who have retired in the last couple of years to spend more time with their families. If Tenant was the leaker, he never would have launched the investigation.
Think it is a holdover Clintonite from either State or CIA.
Two different issues. Some of you are stuck on the Plame recommending Wilson business and I was pointing out Powell would have no way of knowing about that.
As to other information the grand jury wanted from him and others?
Yes, I knew he had testified.
Wilson is well known to have old issues.
We've got a ways to go (to the end of October when the grand jury finishes) to watch what happens. In the meantime, the Dems will spin to the legal limit. Count of that.
