McCann's idea now has a shot at becoming law, thanks to a contest called "There Ought to Be a Law," sponsored annually by Rep. Tom Stevenson, R-Mt. Lebanon.

Why??? Cause we just don't have enough d@mn laws on the book already???? And Marc's heart might be in the right place, but if you're not paying taxes you shouldn't be making laws.

Dogs are my favorite animals and while I DETEST seeing one in the bed of a pickup truck there isn't a need for this law. When I take mine to the vet I keep him in the front seat on a short leash and drive extremely carefully. He isn't allowed to ride in my lap. We don't need another damn law! Enough already!!

It does make me a bit nervous when I see a dog with 3/4 of it's body out of a window. My Silas loves to put his head out of the window. We only have the window part of the way down. He knows the that the rules are that when we start going a little faster the 35 he has to pull in his head in except the end of his black nose. If he forgets I say "Silas head in except the end of your black nose" and he pull his head in except the end of his black nose. Life is about joy not just "hypersaftytivity". Some people are so worried about getting hurt they don't know how to enjoy themselves. There isn't much happier sight than a happy dog with it's head out the car window.
