Please tell me how you do that. Harm, my Malamute/Husky/Lab mix is 85 pounds. I have a mid-sized (Toyota Highlander) SUV. Harm likes to ride in the middle seats, not in the back with the seats down. He likes to be able to lie down and sit up so he can look out the window. Did you get your doggie seat belts from a PetSmart or pet catalog?
And no, I do not allow him to hang his head out of the window as we are driving along. Something could get in his eyes or ears, not to mention being hit by a sideswiping car or truck.

well with Princess the 2 year old, she just does it like a good dog and lets up buckle her in or if we put the seat down, she will curl up in a ball right behind the driver's side seat.
As for Duchess ( 6 mo old Siberian), she is a bit more rowdy and fights but eventually she will take a queue from Princess. But she is only 44lbs right now so I can handle her pretty good.
My parents have the 180 lb Newfie named Duke. They would buckle him in if they had too, but I would have to help them as he is stronger than both of my parents, but not me.... :)

Well, I have to wrestle Harm to get his leash and collar on. He rears up on his hind legs and is almost as tall as I am. He is very good in the car, though. You just use a human seat belt on them? I will have to give it a try. I don't want my "baby" slamming into the back of my seat if I should have to hit the brakes really fast.
Now, how do I get his harness on him? I want to take him walking in town, but he pulls out of his collar too easily to do that safely. He is very strong, too. The vet said if he weighed any more he would be fatal because he is so rambunctious. :(

LOL! I have no problem getting Harm into the SUV! He thinks he is supposed to go everywhere I do. I think he even wants to drive as he sometimes tries to get into the front instead of his seats in the middle.
Yeah, Harm can be a lot to handle. We failed doggie school. The vet had to anesthetize him to give him his bath. He thinks I should put him on a plane for Alaska and let him pull sleds while I get a 10 pound lap dog. Yuck! No offense to folks with 10 pound lap dogs, but I like a big dog. Besides, Harm sits in my lap when he wants to. ;)

My uncle says that no new law should be enacted by any legislative body unless two old laws are concomitantly repealed.

What is it with all of the posters who signed on after 2000? Are they all wackos or just too cranky to hold a decent discourse?

My wife worked with a guy who would bring his two dogs to work with him; he kept them in his coat pockets - one on the right and one on the left.
