The White House apparently has tapped Ed Gillespie former RNC Chair, to be in charge of the campaign for the nominee. That is good.

Fred Thompson is a great guy. Many more know him for his role as the DA in Law & Order than for his politics. He is very eloquant and will be a wonderful face for the "WAR" on the court. Who's more likeable thus more convincing - Schumer and Kennedy or Fred Thompson.

Heck, I'd bet most people in the US think Thompson is really the tough DA of NYC

There's nothing democratic about the way that the Democrats are trying to run the show.

Too true! How's this for a clarifying edit?

Party before Country - it's the Demonrat Way!

Is that better?

I remember him for his politics I remember the first time I saw him as an actor, because I knew he had been a real Senator. So I was a little confused. I am still a little short in the tooth :) We can use all the help we can get.

I think that the "inside the beltway" crowd STILL don't understand that with c-span, talk radio, and the internet, that we are watching and listening to everything they do..

I think they think that they can have their conversations with the Schumers and Clintons, but WE the people won't find out.

I think that the 2006 election COULD be almost as interesting as the 2004 election if WE the people use the anger we feel now to replace (if possible) any and all that think they can get away with this stuff..

"Party before Country - it's the Democrats way!"

One point that needs to be hammered home publicly in a variety of forums (TV ads, speeches, etc.) is that so many of the leading Demagogues are so much more eager to "GO TO WAR" against fellow Americans than against Islamo-fascists. It's just a staggering fact that after 9/11 even a NY Senator like Chuckie Schumer can't muster any such toughness against the people who are trying to kill us all.....

FWIW, Rush just said that it was a good idea to have Fred Thompson help with the candidate...

He said that Bush doesn't want the candidate left out by him/herself dangling, with arrows being shot by the dems and the MSM---so he figures if Thompson is used to "shepherd" the candidate through the process, it will help---

Look what happened to Miguel Estrada...he was kept dangling with no "support" and just had to quit waiting..

I was insinuating that the general uninformed population didn't know Fred Thompson's bio.

I do know that FReepers are always in the know!!!!!

I was thinking more of the people on Jay Leno's "Jay Walking" bits.

Excellent Point! Seems like most Dems and some Repubs only want to fight AGAINST America and Americans, rather than the insipid enemy who silently and loudly plots our demise.

I just that they have also enlisted Ed Gillespie, he knows how to handle the Donks. They to need to suround whoiever the pick is. If Chuckie wants war, then we'll give him one. I am still laughing about Clinton losing the Olympics! Let the English pay for the security.

Maybe one of the reasons that Fred Thompson was picked to help out in this is BECAUSE he is from Tennessee, right?

Maybe he is there to stand behind FRIST more than the candidate!!!
