We don't elect the CEO's or the rich campaign financier's, so are we actually a democracy, they don't seem to be paying much attention to "We the People". Start voting for the ones with the least cash, they're the ones who haven't been bought and are the least influenced.
Can we start calling it Confiscation of Private Property instead of Eminent Domain?
And Felonious Alien instead of illegal immigrant?

This is a major step toward Balkanization: regional domination. Once a foreign nationalist group gets strong enough in a small area, it can begin to dominate that place, gaining influence over local politicians and police. Then it's zone of influence can expand outwards, until overlapping other regions.
The ugliest phase is when you experience anarchy, in which the foreign nationalists drive out the loyal citizens through escalating harassment.
Later, you experience a completely corrupted political structure, which would take Federal intervention to crack. It becomes a base of operations to create new pockets of anarchy, and a dangerous place for loyal citizens to visit.
