Sad that he will be remembered by many folks for his appearance as Ross Perot's running mate...."Who am I and what am I doing here?"

RIP, Admiral.

Brave soldier and great American. Too bad my memory of him is wearing a name tag at a function - perhaps his convention. If you need a name tag, you shouldn't be VP.

You know, as I get older, I tend to see more of the linkage between supposedly "random" events..Had Perot not run...Bush would have been re-elected, and the GOP would never have captured the Congress in 94...and W would not have been elected president only one term after his dad left the WH..

That was 13 years ago? It seems like it was just a few years ago. Man I'm getting old.

My last 30 years went by faster than my first 10.

He was at one time president of the Citadel. The second former Citadel president to die in the last few days.

He was an absolute stud during his time in the Hanoi Hilton. He kept all the guys together. Return with honor was his mantra.

A brilliant man who endured years of suffering at the hands of the N Vietnamese. He maintained by example the dignity of our POWs. He persevered in spite of years of isolation and torture to bring them home.

My hat is off to honor his courage, decency, and sacrifice on behalf of all Americans. A true Medal Of Honor Man.

i didn't know that there were two versions of that movie. i ende3d up with the shorter version which omitted the part with the airplane, which was one of the highlights of the whole movie.
