My wife and I said the same thing yesterday, In terms of city layout (wide streets), spread out.. Moscow made the best choice. My wife is from NYC (Ive only been a hand full of times) and neither of us could imagine what a nightmare the Olympics there would have been and, from what I hear, London is even worse.

Oh well I am kinda happy the French did not get it. Even though usually the Olympics are a net (-) it still would have given those frogs something to crow about..

The one area NYC leads Moscow is airports. Moscow has a slew of them but all of them are still too small and far from town to be useful for the Olmpics (a problem not fixed since the last time it made the Olympics difficult while being hosted in Moscow. Still I think I'd be really interesting to see the Olympics in non-soviet Russia.
