Besides, if somebody wants to smoke in New York, the sidewalks are always available. What a stupid comment.Your not so smart yourself!
But if you think smokers are going to take their money to a no smoking venue, you have another thought coming!
(Where are you from btw?????) idiot!

Isn't every Olypics a drain/strain on the host city? It's like a commitee announcing which city will be burdened 7 years hence.
We'll host in Los Angeles again, just so long as someone figures out where Uberoth hid the business plan. I enjoy several of the Olympic venues, participated in the 84 games, and would love to do it all again.
The LAOOC continues to have a profit and it sponsors or donates to many organizations throughout the Los Angeles area.
I'm sorry that I'll never again, alas, be able to buy an Olympic ticket with pocket change. $10 tickets are certainly a thing of the past.

Oh, let's see. Could it be because London's main competitors were led by two of FR's main targets, "Blacques" Jacques Chirac and Hil-liary Klin-toon?

I'm just glad it wasn't NYC.
Me, too. It would have been a nightmare.

The "Red Ken" games !That IS annoying, but it's fun to think of Chirac crying in his fois gras today. Congrats to the UK, our steady friend and ally in the WOT. Good on ya!
To: flaglady47
I agree with you, if this turns out to be the case Chirac is beyond toast politically, he'll be a national disgrace and embarrassment. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

That's a famous photo of Parisians pretending to greet Hitler's infantry columns in Paris in 1940.
The guy in the foreground looks like he's just about the right age to have been a veteran in the Great War.

The current marathon distance (26 mi., 385 yds.) was set for the 1908 London Olympics so that the course could start at Windsor Castle and end in front of the Royal Box. Not until 1921, however, was that distance adopted as the "official" Marathon distance by the IAAF.RHIP = Royalty Hath Its Privileges.

"And once again Hillary didn't bring home the bacon to NY'ers."
And ain't that the grandest news? Who could have listened to all the mountains of praise heaped on her by the liberal media? Too nauseating to think about, I can't tell you how much I'm overjoyed that her efforts have failed. Long may she fail.
