Actress Angelina Jolie is adopting a newborn Ethiopian girl orphaned by AIDS, People magazine reported on Tuesday.
Jolie, who has toured the world as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations' High Commissioner on Refugees, said the baby would be named Zahara Marley Jolie but would not reveal the child's age, height or weight, People said.
The magazine had no further information on the baby's health but said she had been left an orphan by AIDS.
Jolie, 30, told People that she and her son Maddox, 3, who she adopted from a Cambodian orphanage, were "very happy to have a new addition to our family."
Arrangements for the adoption were expected to be completed Wednesday.
"Angie's over the moon," a source close to the actress told People. "It's a dream come true. She's always wanted to extend her family."
Jolie has been romantically linked with Brad Pitt, her "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star, but the source denied they were planning a family.
"Angelina's adopting as a single mother and she wants that emphasized," the source told People.
The twice-divorced Jolie has often talked of adopting a second child. After a trip to Ethiopia earlier this year, Jolie said of Maddox: "My son is in love with Africa, so he has been asking for an African brother or sister."
I applaud her action.

Good for her. As much as I don't like her weird lifestyle, I think a person has to have a good spirit to do something like this. I don't think I could love a child that probably is going to die.
Yes you could, it would just break your heart and like me, you're just not built for obvious heartbreak. Life has enough heartbreak without taking on a heartbreak we can see coming.
I admire AJ for her strength. She's a better person than I.

I can't help thinking that she's collecting kids like they are some kind of LLadro trinket. I guess it's better to be Jolie's pet than live in dump of a country.
Actually, the article doesn't say that the baby has AIDS, just that it was orphaned by AIDS (either one or both of the parents died from AIDS). Still, a very kind and generous action by Angelina.
Wow! Going from Etiopian AIDs orphan to Lifestyles of Rich and Famous Babies in days. I hope the dear child's nanny can cope. But first, "Will somone get the collagen injection guy to the set please?"
I don't follow the lifestyles of the rich and famous, so I don't know... Is Angelina Jolie particularly self-absorbed and neglectful of her children? Or are you just painting with a broad brush?
She's not really my ideal woman, but this seems to be a wonderful thing for her to do. She will transform this child's life.
It's definitely a good thing that she adopted the children. The children are far better off with ther than where they were. I just think the kids are going to build poor character from Jolie's immorality, arrogance and elitism.
FoxNews also reported that she donates one-third of her gross earnings to relief efforts. She does put her money where her collagen is!

I may not agree with some of her political views, but Angelina Jolie's heart is in the right place.
One-third? That's pretty impressive. Still not my cup of tea as an actress, but you have to respect that!
I take it from this publicity puff piece that Jolie's latest movie is struggling a bit at the box office.
