They're biding their time. No sympathy for property rights, but plenty of antipathy for "greedy developers." But, this should free up a lot of funds for social programs. They're really, really torn right now.
My father was telling me about a local guy (PA) whose home was taken years ago, to make room for a highway, and the news showed him standing outside his house with a shotgun when the bulldozers showed up.
He was arrested and hauled off.
This battle has to be fought through the legislature somehow... Some state reps have already jumped on it.
I guess if they had taken the land to build a Walmart, then we'd be hearing about it.
