Welcome to Conflagration Central, otherwise known as Washington, D.C. We unfortunate denizens are beyond exhausted from observing repeat rounds of the low state of American politics' never-ending series of bar brawls. We will be all the more drained after we observe the pending battle between the fire-breathing, over-reaching, power-drunk far Right-ies and the limp, listless Left-ies. That, as each side seeks to destroy the other over the next U.S. Supreme Court nominee.

What better example of looking at the same thing and seeing different reality? The lefts' brains seem to be reverse wired.

They republicans had better threaten armageddon if they know what's good for them. Unfortunately Lindsey Grham is already worrying about the image of congress in the world and Arlen Specter is agreeing with "the language" of Ted Kennedy.

Lindsay had better start worrying more about his own image.

I don't know what happened to him. He had a pair when he was a congressman but they apparently neutered him before they turned him loose in the senate.

It's come down to this in American politics: Do you want venal, overt prevarication or do you want inept, feckless incompetence? The former is today's GOP. The latter are today's A little bit of confusion over which party is which.
Venal, overt prevarication = Dems in Congress.
Inept, feckless incompetence = GOP in Congress.

That's left-speak for "the sensible center."

When's Voinovich 'gonna start 'cryin? Rinovich only cries over UN nominees. With judgeships at stake, this is a job for Mike "Backstab" DeRino.
When will we elect a good Senator. I'm just scared that Governor Taxt will decide he wants a senate seat when he is term-limited out in 2006.

Perhaps their ability to deliver on such threats (indebted as this White House is to their ilk) means the time has arrived to board the plane for Tehran. After all, wouldn't it be a relief to join a society in which religious tyranny is gossamer compared with the version we now face in the good old U.S. of A?Maybe she does not know that part of the "tolerance" in Tehran can involve stoning or having body parts removed? Gossamer treatment to be sure compared to being forced, brutally forced, to be able to see a portion of the Old Testament (and Torah too iirc) on a courtroom wall.

It's probably a job for John "Imahero" McLame.

I don't know what happened to him. He had a pair when he was a congressman but they apparently neutered him before they turned him loose in the senate. I agree. He made a name for himself during the impeachment process but once he was in the limelight he became a fence jumper, first on one side then the next. When this happens I always suspect they have hired political consultants who urge caution and putting the finger in the wind. Too many of those folks are like Dick Morris. They know a lot about how to get elected but they care little about principles. Fortunately for us, the people usually care more about principles and consistency. Graham may be about to learn that. His joining the unholy alliance of 14 should have given him a headsup. His voters didn't react too well to that.
