if Washington had truly left Mt. Vernon to the Masons, they should be ashamed. It was left to rot until purchased by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, a private, non-profit organization founded in 1853 by Ann Pamela Cunningham. MVLA continues to run Mt. Vernon to this day.

One becomes a Freemason or Mason by asking a Mason for membership information. No Mason will ever or can ever solicit membership because of their code and tradition. One must want to be one in order to be one. I've always had a lingering fascination with the Freemasons.

I've never really looked into it but I've always been drawn to it. (as on this thread)

There's nothing I've said that isn't true. The masons
are considered a cult by the RCC and most evangelical protestant churches.

And my father was a 32nd degree, so I have some knowledge of the subject on my own.

you just have to ask... Masons aren't really allowed to recruit new members, it's supposed to be your idea to join.

if you don't know any Masons other than your GrandFather, then goto your local Lodge and ask for a Masonic Information Booklet and if it appeals to you, ask for an application to join.
