NOVAK: But you don't know -- Ed, you don't know anything about the case. And those people who say that don't know anything about the case. And unfortunately, as somebody who likes to write, I'd like to say a lot about the case, but because of my attorney's advice I can't. But I will. And there might be some surprising things.

Well, there's a story which tells us nothing other than Novak can't talk about it.

Yeah, I'm betting that it gets at least three posts, pretty hard to resist.

The NY Times and Time Magazine protecting a source that is supposedly inside the White House? Indeed that would be a surprise and one that I don't expect.

Hmmmm? Come to think of it, Ol' Joe Wilson seems to have dropped off the radar screen. Could we be watching the beginnings of some serious blowback? Does Novak have even more info on Wilson?

I'm of the opinion that Novak is waiting for the opportune time to reveal that the source of the leak was a CLINTON administration official..........

I hope Mr. Novak keeps his clothes on. I would not want to see him reveal "all." Ugh. What an image.

I can't. But I will.
Yep sounds like Novak is trying to pull a Woodard and Berstein... Up the suspense and play it out in the media for what it's worth....

The NY Times and Time Magazine protecting a source that is supposedly inside the White House? Indeed that would be a surprise and one that I don't expect. They aren't that has always been clear, and it takes one of little imagination, to not realise the truth. Who is on the hotseat tells you all you need to know.
The source being protected was originally described as a 'Senior Administration Official' thats an Executive Branch Malcontent, who is NOT a Bush appointee.
The source Coper and Miller are on the hot seat for, is a player in the middle of an attempt by a Government employee to sabotage Bush administration Policy.
Probably at State, maybe CIA, a career leftist.

I agree. Most likely a State Dept. Clinton holdover.
To: hobbes1
My guess is CIA. There were numerous articles that mentioned that the real reason that Cooper and Miller were being pressured to reveal their source was that it was suspected that the same source revealed that the HSA was about to toraid the offices of some terrorist supporting Muslim group and somehow just hours before the raid was to take place, someone warned them. It was suggested that the warning came from Miller or Cooper, who had the same source or at the least, from someone else that the agent was talking to.
I jsut had a thought, maybe this is one of the agents that Bolton had been looking into, as well.

The legal system is so confused, I can appreciate Novak's attorney asking to remain silent. Who knows what crap is going on. The entire legal system is so complicated nobody knows what is going on. I have no doubt, since I like Novak, that there is more to tell and hope that the legal crap will soon get of his back so we can get more information. The problem is not Kovak, but the legal system with it insane professionals that have decided to run the Country.

Maybe, or some other high profile Clintonista that will reflect poorly on Her Heinous, and the MSM will gulp so hard they'll choke trying to cover up their complicity......

I mean really, there are no "journalists" or "press" in the mainstream media and there have not been for a very long time. The people we see on "both sides" acting like they are impartial "press" are nothing of the kind. Because, gee, they are one side or another. Duh. they are not a "free press". They are a partial press and they are paid to push their handlers political views. They deserve no shield law.
Consider the absurd fakery of having a George Stephanopoulos pretending to be a journalist on a national TV network. What a farce! This is what he is really all about:
This internet site, FreeeRepublic, is more of a true "free press" than anything in the regular media. Unlike the mainstream media it's tough to fib here. Very tough because there are 1,000's of "editors" looking over everyones shoulders.
In many ways the mainstream media is as dead as the hair on the top of James Carville's head. You have to wonder if they are so supposedly so smart why many of them have not figured that out yet.

Rush Limbaugh just called it on his show. If Karl Rove leaked, then the papers would have played it up in the 2004 election. It is not Karl Rove.

Originally when this thing broke I saw Novak in a televised interview. It looked to me like he was very uncomfortable about the whole thing. Looked ill at ease about it. Not that that couldn't have changed. Also people can be actors. he didn't seem happy about all the trouble here that has resulted. He could have been trying to give this appearance though.
