Virginia Rodino is a global justice activist who has protested the G-8, WTO, IMF, World Bank, and the occupation of Palestine and Iraq around the globe. She is a communications professor in the University of Maryland system, where she researches the democratization processes of social movement communication, as well as mainstream media coverage of social movements. She has produced award-winning studies on activist public relations, and is a trained critical media analyst. She is a founding organizer of the Baltimore anti-war coalition. In addition to founding and organizing several global justice and anti war groups, Rodino has served as the media spokesperson and publicist for these organizations as well.
