..I'm getting so very tired of people blaming the victim.. And then pretending that's not what they are doing...

I didn't say she was out of control. I do not THINK she was out of control, but she was out of her league, as I would be in a country I know nothing about. That's why I don't throw caution to the wind and leave the relative safety of the resort, and the oversight of the chaperones.
And did you ever make mistakes when you were 18 years old?

It seems that most of these kids were age 18 -- which may be still be childish -- but it is legal age most places, which is probably why they went to an island to party hearty in the first place.
It's tragic what has apparently happened to Natalee and her family, but as yet, there are no absolute "facts" about how she vanished.

I have been following the threads for a while. I have to say I don't really like slogging through silly arguments. How about we stop responding to people who just come here to argue? It would make the thread a lot easier to read!
To: Rippersnapper
I'm sorry to have to say that I agree that Beth shouldn't have made that plea today. It showed how desperate she has become with all of this.
BTW, We can't prove Natalee is alive either, but there is more common sense that says she isn't.

They bugged me too as did the other kids that were on O'Reilly last week or the week before. They seemed smug but it could have been nerves.

Witnesses said she drank responsibly.
Here's a comment from "Country Moon", a classmate of Natalee's, who participates on SM. She/he appears to be very intelligent, according to his/her posts. Country Moon Says:

The chaperones that were there did all the head counts, did all of the checking rooms, and monitored everything that they possibly could. The ratio of us to them though was us winning by a mile. We were out to all hours of the night. We had this false sense that the island was totally safe. That is the impression that everyone who lives there gives you. They try to make you feel like its all about you and your time there. Night life there is so up beat and exciting.
We all were a few sheets to the wind at C&Cs, all of us who were there, and that is our faults and we live with that guilt now every day. No one in our group here saw her leave the bar, but had we not been intoxicated I know we all would have used much better judgement and said something.
We were dispersed all over the place in Aruba. The beach, the bar, the pool, the hotel
if a person was not with one group it was thought that Oh they must be with another. Another bad call on our part

But I have enough sense to stop at that point, while others have gotten into some of the wildest conspiracy theories I have ever read. You know what I'm talking about.

It could have been any one of the girls in the group as well.
I think joran was wanting a bit of action that night & he chose NH.

Yes I did. Since I'm still here, I guess I didn't screw up that badly. What is the excuse for the adults?
To: over3Owithabrain
Unless she has incontrovertible proof that the brothers were indeed accessories to murder (PROOF, which we haven't heard so far, not hunches or gut feelings), she is wrong to call them criminals publicly, tie them to a murder, and ask entire nations to not allow them entry.
Let's see, they lied to the authorities and took part in a cover up, which kept two innocent men in jail. That's criminal. Would you call them girl scouts?

Interesting sites; harsh people. Wish I could read the material and make some sense of it.
When I clicked on the links, ZoneAlarm blocked Internet Access to "TCP Port 1080" on the computer & identified a website with a "cc" file extension and IP. Since I don't know much about 'port probes' or IPs, is there anyone who can school me?
I also have the name of the site, but don't know if putting it out there will 'trigger' anything.

I used the word murder intentionally. Got proof of that yet? If so, you're the only one.

This is false. A couple of the girls talked to Natalee as she was leaving. Also, the statement that all were intoxicated is clearly a generalization.

Don't defend Aruba, and The Netherlands does not need coddling. Aruba and a lot of the islands are Pirate coves. Always were and always will be. My husband's friend was murdered in Jamaica and they covered it up. They are not to be trusted.
