Here is what MAY turn out to be a damning part of this info:

VAN SUSTEREN: After you and Beth listened to that phone call several times and hung up with the person in the states, what did you do next?

my gut went cold and I got goosebumps when I heard this on TV........itwas obvious even then that the interview was edited, as is the transcript.....I would LOVE to see the raw tape in its entirety, and I surely HOPE the prosecutor has a copy and is looking into just who this person in the states who was a "major" friend of this cellphone vendor/service-provider in aruba is, and how the concern re this particular call was made. I suspect that this tape and the resulting facts discovered as a result will be key in any resolution of this matter.

I tend to agree with you on that one, WCG! I saw the interview Greta did at the home of Mickey John (sic?). He was livid. I couldn't understand him but he was either suggesting every one on the police should be fired or 'set' on fire. My "island ear" is not very much in tune!

Has anyone heard anything from the 2nd security guard? MJ, I believe, is from Grenada; I don't know about the other. Makes me wonder if the prison population there is disporportionately filled with fall guys.

Are there 2 prisons there or one prison and one holding-type jail (where these guys have been staying) and a prison? My best wishes to the 2 guards; no one should be framed and I hope they are safe.

Seriously, I'm still hoping for a "wilbanks" ending to this. The girl is safe and sound and everyone can be pissed at her for hiding. Doesn't look that way though...

It's because the place is no more dangerous or corrupt than anyplace else, but you have to be careful when you travel and her (and others, like chaperones) decision-making process broke down and it resulted in a terrible tragedy.

I have traveled all over the world, including Central and South America, Europe, Asia Minor, Israel, Russia, etc. Believe me when I say there are some places far more dangerous than others. Aruba is dangerous, and when crime is not reported and arrests not made then one gets a false sense of security.

I have never been raped, but I have exercised great caution when traveling, both in the US and abroad. I can cut the kids some slack in making poor choices, but the adults are not to be excused for their lapses in judgement.

Some of the places I have been to do have a very seedy feel to them. The locals will hit on you no matter where you go. You tell them no, ignore them, and travel in packs where all are looking out for one another, especially the adults, who should have been able to pick up on the activities of the locals, unless they were just off doing their own thing, which seems possible.

the date-rape drug GHB makes the victim behaviorally compliant, and THAT is precisely why it has become known as such. In larger than necessary dosages, it will cause complete unconsciousness and even death.

Then what do you call this: I will say I believe she is dead and was by the time she was discovered missing. I think Joran had something to do with it, and I don't know if it was intentional or not.

Went on a cruise with Mr. h and about a dozen of his relatives a couple of years ago. Among other places, we visited Cancun and Cozumel and I believe I saw a Carlos and Charlies at one of those towns.

Wherever we saw it, it was in the daytime, looked like a kind of Hard Rock Cafe, and was located right where the cruisers couldn't miss it when debarking. The only reason we didn't go in was that it seemed to be overflowing with people and we went to another more intimate restaurant and had a lovely meal.

Are C and C "restaurant/bars" different at night than daytime? Are they owned by the same people? Guess I should check out their website...wonder if they all have the 'booty' thingie and doing stunts for drinks?

You've been around much more than me, but I'd say your advice is sage even in the US when hanging out in a new city or even neighborhood. Having lived in Vegas, for every tourist there is a shakedown artist shadowing them with an agenda. Aruba is probably a brochure paradise with the same seemy underbelly one would find in many a tourist trap. One is wise to travel in packs, especially young women. And stay in the safe places.

It's a guess based on the things we KNOW. 1) She has not been seen for over a month. 2) Joran was the last one seen with her.

Beyond that, we just don't KNOW anything. Some people here think they can solve the case by reading blogs, listening 24/7 to different news reports, etc. That's not how crimes are solved. It's an interesting exercise, but nothing more than that.

it has been about 17 years, but my husband and i were in Cancun and ate at a Carlos and Charlies, it was the closest thing to American food that we could find. if there was anything wild going on there, we saw no evidence of it.
