About this time, my granddaughter would make us sing the Barney Song.
LOL
Well Hi there.
Sounds like you're having quite an adventure.
Moving is the awfullest, isn't it?
FOTFL! Now you have that song playing in my head!
It's a cute song (sort of) --- when each g-kid was of Barney age, we recorded them singing the cute little "I love you" song. The older ones roar now when they hear themselves.
I will NEVER move again... and for certain, I will NEVER move again with this husband...lol.
(Just as an example, your statement...
People who are naive and think like children that everyone is good, need to grow up. People who have seen dead bodies and don't believe in fairy tales have already grown up.
...I mean, just whom exactly are you addressing with that straw man?)
Even so, I started out slogging away at a point-by-point refutation of your post. It got very long.
I started to include bits of information in defense of myself, such as the fact that I'm the mother of a U.S. military veteran (yes, I guess I am "OLD" enough for that, to refer back to one of your earlier swipes), as well as a traditionalist, pro-life, pro-gun, pro-Constitutionalist homeschooling mom whose most admired persons are Ronald Reagan, Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia, and Ann Coulter.
But then I came to my senses: Why on earth was I bothering to try to refute, with logic and reason and civility, a poster who attacked me from the git-go by calling me a "liberal" and "someone who thinks Bush caused the terror bombings in London" ? ALL on the basis of precisely nothing.
With your kind of "logic" and "facts," why should any of us here put stock in any of your assertions about the NH case? Or your credibility as an "investigator" (which I have never pretended to be).
And I also remembered something I've had to say before to other abusive posters: This is not what FR was founded for. FR is supposed to be a place where we conservatives can post our own substantial comments and opinions about the political issues of the day, not a place for chit-chat or worse, personal agendas against other FReepers.
So I erased the whole reply and started over.
Now here's what I have to suggest to you and to all the other posters who take personal offense that other FReepers have an opinion different from yours about the Natalee Holloway case: Go start your own blog or forum and stop abusing FR, which doesn't belong to you, with your petty posts attacking other FReepers.
Then you can ping all of your little clique over to your own forum, where you can "control" all your own threads and insist that everyone march in lock-step with your opinion only. And then you can attack your own designated "trolls" to your hearts' content -- which is what some here, apparently, live for.
And now, back to the substance of the topic. Which is Natalee Holloway, not us.
Thanks very much, twigs. I've enjoyed reading your posts too on other topics, so your comment means a lot to me, coming as it does from you.
You've said so many things so well, that if I were to address them one-by-one, I'd end up repeating your whole post (which wouldn't be so bad, actually!)
It's a nice coincidence that your particular post happened to be at # 2020, because I think you have seen the situation with 20/20 vision.
Thanks for the great thought and effort you put into it. I for one read every word, and appreciated it very much.
Thanks Teri, no need to be sorry. I wasn't offended. I think we've all gotten emotionally caught up in this case, for whatever reason, and it's hard to separate out those emotions. When a person is big enough to admit that emotions momentarily got the better of him (or her) that's a good thing!
There have been a lot of topics discussed on FR, besides the NH case, that seem to bring out the worst attitudes -- attitudes I used to think only leftists displayed (e.g., group-think, pettiness, irrationality, illogic, and myopic self-centeredness)!
But you've gotta love FR. There are other sites where posts are quickly deleted if they don't stick substantively to the topic, e.g. if they're an attack on a previous poster. But those sites end up weeding out some a lot of the free-wheeling fun we get here on FR, too.
But the petty, backbiting posts are an embarrassment. I've tried a few times to remind people that FR doesn't exist for the purpose of attacking other FReepers; and that individual posters (unless they're Jim Robinson) don't "own" the thread, have no right to "control" it, and shouldn't demand that everyone march in precise lock-step with them.
One more time I'd like to appeal to fellow FReepers: Please let's address the substance of the topic, not do nasty dissections of some other FReeper's supposed idiocy or ThoughtCrime (the definition of which is : an opinion differing from one's own).
And NOW, back to the supposed topic of this thread: Natalee Holloway...
OMG I was NOT DESCRIBING NATALEE
I was referring to JURINE - his behavior is either that of a spoiled brat (which it is clear that he is) or that of a psychopath (which has not yet been established).
Sorry I was not clear CG

Your response is not responsive to my post, which I made specific, at your request. Once again you fail to support your contentions, or answer my questions, but instead you go off on a tangential rant. I will correspondingly value your posts on their merit, not on "feelings" or rants, feel free to do the same for mine. My logic and facts have a proven track record. We do agree on one thing, you have never pretended to be an investigator...regards rs
Glad to hear you're parents are "still perking". I'm 66 and lost my Dad in '92 just before his 81st b'day. Mother died in '01 at age 87. We still have not settled her estate entirely as to vacation property in Maryland. Long, sad, frustrating tale. I've got it in the works now, want to complete the job. While I haven't been a long-time poster here, I enjoy adding my two cents once in a while. I hope the regulars don't mind.
Officials didn't want to release the death cert. They claimed it was an accident. It wasn't. My husband didn't press for more details, it was too painful.
I am so sorry. <><
i was right about joran tricking natalie into thinking that she was getting into a cab.it was the kalpoe taxicab inc.owned and operated by deepak kalpoe!
